Maintenance and cleaning

A T T E N T I O N ! Dangerous electrical voltage.
Possible consequences: Death or severe injury.
Protective measures:
• Electrical units and installations with a rated voltage of U > 12 V AC or U >30 V DC located in the water:
Isolate the units and installations (switch off and disconnect from the power supply) before reaching into the
water.
• Isolate the unit before starting any work.
• Secure the unit to prevent unintentional switching on.
N O T E
Recommendation regarding cleaning:
• Clean the unit as required but at least twice a year.
• When cleaning the pump, pay particular attention to the cleaning of the impeller unit and pump housing.
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as they could attack the housing or impair the function
of the unit.
• Recommended cleaning agent for removing stubborn limescale deposits:
– Pump cleaning agent PumpClean from OASE.
– Vinegar- and chlorine-free household cleaning agent.
• Clean the outside of the pump.
– Use a soft brush as an aid.
• After cleaning, thoroughly rinse all parts in clean water.
N O T E
The impeller unit contains strong magnets that attract magnetic particles (e.g. iron filings).
• All particles must be removed from the impeller unit before reassembly. Any remaining particles can cause
irreparable damage to the impeller unit and motor block.
Cause
No mains voltage
Impeller blocked, pump running dry
Strainer casing or satellite filter clogged
Hose blocked
Hose kinked
Excessive loss in the hose due to friction
Pump overload. The output is automatically re-
duced to protect the unit.
The stepped hose adapter is not adapted to the
maximum possible hose inside diameter.
Strainer casing clogged
Pump running dry.
Remedy
Check the mains voltage.
Clean the pump housing, check the supply
lines for blockages.
Clean
Clean or replace hose
Eliminate the kink in the hose, replace the hose
if damaged
Reduce hose length to reduce frictional loss
− Clean the pump housing.
− Reduce the ambient temperature (e.g. ad-
here to the correct water temperature,
avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight).
− Ensure adequate ventilation for dry instal-
lation.
Shorten the stepped hose adapter such that it
corresponds to the maximum possible hose in-
side diameter.
Clean strainer casing
− Check the supply lines for blockages.
− Vent hoses.
− Check the connections for leaks.
