10 Extending the Telephone System

The internationally approved GAP
from different manufacturers. As a result, it is possible to integrate SWITEL devices and devi-
ces from other manufacturers together in one telephone system. It is possible, however, that
some functions are not available.
Multiple handsets
Up to 5 handsets, including those from other manufacturers, can be operated from your base
station. However, the handsets must comply with the GAP standard. To register handsets from
other manufacturers, please proceed according to the instructions in their corresponding ma-
nual. It is possible that not all the functions will be available with these handsets.
1. Disconnect the power adapter plug from the power socket.
2. Wait 5 seconds.
3. Plug the power adapter plug back in the power socket.
The base station is then in Registration mode for 60 seconds. Continue with the
handset.
Press the O button.

Use the G and H buttons to navigate to the REGISTER menu option.

Press the O button.

Press the G and H buttons to select BASE 1 − BASE 4.

Press the O button.

9. Enter the 4−digit PIN.
Press the O button.

The default PIN code is "0000".
Deregistering handsets
The handset with which the deregistration process is performed cannot be deregi-
stered itself. You can only deregister other handsets registered on the same base
station. This ensures that a minimum of one handset is registered to the base sta-
tion.
Press the O button.

Use the digit keys to enter the number of the handset (e.g. 2).
