Start up
Burner start-up automatically implies
acceptance of the system. This is the
responsibility of the installer or his
representative as he alone can
guarantee the overall conformity of the
boiler-room to good practice and to the
current regulations.
The installer must previously have
completely filled the suction line with fuel
oil, vented the preliminary filter and
checked the operation of the quarter-
turn manual and hydraulic protection
valves.

Preliminary checks

• Check nominal voltage and electrical
frequency available and compare with
those indicated on the rating plate.
• Turn off the power supply.
• Check absence of voltage.
• Close the fuel valve.
• Refer to the manufacturer's
instructions for the boiler and the
regulation.
• Check:
- water pressure in the heating circuit,
- circulating pump in working order,
- the opening of the mixer valve,

Fuel-oil tightness control
• Connect a pressure gauge and a
vacuum gauge to the pump.
• Check tightness.

- the settings of the boiler and
ambient temperature thermostats.
- safety fuse rating,
- that the combustion air supply and
exhaust flue are operational and
compatible with the heating
capacity of the burner and the fuel oil,
- the operation of the flue draught
regulator
- the fuel-oil level in the tank,
- the filling of the suction canalization,
- the position of the flexible hoses:
suction and return,
- the boost pressure of 2bar max.,
- the opening of the monitoring valves
and the pre-filter.
Settings
The burner is pre-set in the factory. If
pre-settings do not correspond to the
power of the boiler, follow the
instructions below.
• Select in the table opposite the nozzle
calculated for the boiler's nominal
power with a yield of 92%.
• Adjust the settings for the combustion
head:
- Y dimension graduated from 0 to
20mm,
- 103B air flap control graduated from
0 to 18.
Firing
• Close the regulation circuit.
• Release the control and safety unit.
The burner is operating and the control
unit flashes.
• Stand-by for closure of the pre-heater
thermostat (for burners with pre-
heater).
The burner starts.
• Check the combustion:
CO rate, smoke opacity and

temperature.
To increase the CO rate:

• Reduce the air flap opening and vice
versa.
A modification to the value may
require adjusting the Y dimension by
operating screw 3.
To change the smoke index:
• Open the air flap to clear and vice
versa.
• Check combustion parameters under
actual working conditions (doors
closed, etc.) and absence of leaks in
the different systems.
• Record the results in the relevant
documents.
Safety settings and checks
• When the burner is working, check :
- opening of the regulation circuit,
- safety lockout due to flame failure,
- boiler front for leaks,
- control devices (when installed),
- depression (vacuum) of the fuel oil
supply circuit, (maximum 400mbar
or 305mm Hg).
