! When cleaning your FCT01-X
terminal, make sure that no liquid
enters the equipment housing; use
only a slightly moistened cloth for
cleaning the terminal.
! Using the FCT01-X in a network:
No more than 8 terminals may be
connected, using a YDI01 Zener
barrier, to the RS-485 interface
port.
! Make sure all operating
personnel are trained to
recognize malfunctions and
to take appropriate corrective
or preventive measures (such as
disconnecting the equipment from
power) as needed.
! The equipment meets the
requirements for electromagnetic
compatibility. Avoid interference
stronger than that allowed for in
the relevant standards (see also the
section entitled "Overview;
Declaration of Conformity" in the
operating instructions).
! If you use the equipment in
a hazardous area or location
outside Germany, you must comply
with the national electrical code
and applicable safety regulations
of your country.
Ask your local Sartorius office or
dealer for information on the legal
regulations applicable in your
country.
! The IWA, IU and IF Series
weighing platforms from Sartorius
are rated for use in conjunction
with the FCT01-X in Category 2
and 3 hazardous areas/locations
as defined in Directive 94/9/EU
(Zones 1 and 2 as defined in DIN
EN60079-14, VDE 0165 Part 1)
within the scope of the EC type
examination certificate for the
FCT01-X. These platforms meet
the specifications in Item 5.4 of
the EN 50020/1994 standard.
Sartorius AG has tested this
equipment and declares that when
used in conjunction with the
FCT01-X these platforms fulfill the
relevant requirements set forth for
equipment designated EEx ib IIC
T4 or II 2 G. This does not
necessarily apply to a platform that
is connected to other intrinsically
safe equipment.

Warning:
! The FCT01-X is sealed at the
factory to enable reliable
documentation that the intrinsically
safe electrical equipment is in
proper condition according to the
relevant regulations. The
equipment may be opened only
by authorized and trained service
personnel. The seal must be
removed to install a load cell.
This must be performed by a
service technician familiar with the
operation of electrical equipment
in hazardous areas/locations.
Any tampering with this equipment
by anyone other than authorized
personnel will result in forfeiture of
the approval for use in the stated
hazardous area/location and of
all claims under the manufacturer's
warranty.
