INSTALLATION RULES

• The only devices which can be installed on the intercom network
are Art. 2418W and 4714W/2I.
• Only devices with the same user code, and therefore not more
than 4 flats (4 different user codes), must be installed on each of
the 4 extension outputs of interface intercom Module Art. 4897.
It is possible for the same user code to be placed on several
extension outputs of the intercom network (e.g.: single-family
case - see diagram SB2V/010).
• Not more than 8 extensions can be connected for every intercom
interface Module Art. 4897.
• Not more than 3 extensions can be connected for every extension
output of the intercom network of interface module Art. 4897.
• The connection of several internal extensions (MAX 3) with the
same user code per extension output of the intercom network
must be carried out in cascade.
• Up to 8 extensions with the same user code can be installed
for every interface Art. 4897.
The extensions, if called, ring at the same time.
• Every internal extension connected to the intercom network must
have its own univocal intercom code
• It is not possible to give the same user code to an extension
installed on an intercom network, i.e. after an Art. 4897 and one
installed directly on the riser or on another intercom network.
• A MAX of 10 interfaces Art. 4897 can be installed for every Mixer
Art. 4896 (in audio-video Simplebus2 systems). In the case of
Simplebus1 or door entry phone only systems, the number of
4897s which can be installed depends on the other components
installed in the system.
See assessment of number of devices for Simplebus1 systems
or door entry phone on page 25.
• It is possible to have an intercom conversation at the same time for
every intercom network, i.e. for every interface Art. 4897 installed.
• To obtain the LED for signalling that the system is engaged and
the possibility of managing pushbuttons 3 and 4, it is necessary
for the intercom network Videocom series monitor to be provided
with the pushbuttons and LED card Art. 4703.
• If several monitors are to be lighted up at the same time (MAX 3
Main), it is necessary to take into account that the monitors
which can light up simultaneously on a call to the main monitor
supplied from the riser must be on the same output of interface
Art. 4897 and must be supplied separately by means of Art.
1212/B - see diagram SB2V/010.
• In systems with several video entry phone extensions with the
same user code and without additional power supplies, only set
one bracket Art. 4714W/2I or 5714/I as Main and the others as
Secondaries.
• When there are several monitors with the same user code, the
Main one supplied from the riser must be on the output in the
lowest numerical order (example L1, if they occupy L1, L2 and
L3) among those occupied by the monitors with the same user
code - see example on page 25.
The monitors which are on the highest outputs L2 and L3 must
be set as Secondaries.
• Before connecting Art. 4897 to the riser it is necessary to start
programming the intercom interface for self-learning - see
"Programming interface module Art. 4897 for self-learning" on
page 29.

• Every time the connections of the devices on the intercom
network are changed or a device is replaced (even when only
the on-board microcontroller is replaced), it is necessary to
repeat the self-learning procedure of Art. 4897.
• Insert terminal Art. 1214/2, supplied as standard on the riser, in
the extensions towards each intercom interface module Art. 4897.
• When an intercom system is installed for a door entry phone only
system, both the intercom interface module Art. 4897 and the
intercom telephone 2418W must be set as Simplebus1 - see the
paragraphs "How to set telephone Art. 2418W for operation in
Simplebus1 systems" and "How to set interface Art. 4897 for
operation in Simplebus1 systems" on pages 29-30. See diagrams
SBC/09 and SBC/04PI for door entry phone only system.
• Depending on the cable used, calculate the maximum distance
which can be reached between power supply-mixer Art. 4896
and the monitor furthest away - see TABLE1 on page 26.
• Depending on the cable used, calculate the MAX distance which
can be reached between branch terminal Art. 1214/2 and the
monitor furthest away - see TABLE1 on page 26.
• In the case of Simplebus2 Video entry phone systems,
depending on the cable used, calculate the MAX distances to be
respected between the external unit and mixer power supply
according to what is indicated in the MT/SB2/01 Technical
Manual.
• Depending on the cable used, calculate the maximum distance
which can be reached in door entry phone only systems - see
TABLE 2 on page 26.
• In the case of Simplebus1 Video entry phone systems,
depending on the cable used, calculate the MAX distance
between the external unit and the monitor furthest away and
between 1214/2 and the monitor furthest away - see TABLE1 on
page 26.
• Avoid placing the Bus line wires near power supply cables
(220/400V).
