Safety instructions

Caution – risk of accident!
Danger of uncoupling during operation.
After every coupling operation, check that the AKS
is correctly locked onto the ball on the towing ve-
hicle ( 11)!
The green cylinder of the indicator must be visible.
The ball must be clean and free of grease

Never leave your hand on the coupling handle when
„
opening or closing the stabiliser handle
During coupling and uncoupling, the stabiliser han-
„
dle must always be open
Coupling
1. Pull the stabiliser handle up as far as the stop
( 9 -a).
2. Using the coupling handle, set the AKS down onto
the ball ( 9 -b).
If the vertical coupling load is sufficient, the ball
coupling automatically locks into place. If the verti-
cal coupling load is not sufficient, the AKS must be
pushed down onto the ball manually until it locks into
place.
3. Check that it is seated securely (
4. Push the stabiliser handle down as far as the stop
( 10).
The AKS™ is ready for operation.
For easier manoeuvring of the trailer, the stabi-
liser handle is simply opened.
Uncoupling
1. Pull the stabiliser handle up as far as the stop
( 12 -a).
2. Open the coupling handle (
3. Lift the AKS off the ball.

Exchanging the friction linings

Safety instructions
Caution – risk of accident!
Do not clean friction linings!
Cleaned friction linings have a significantly re-
duced damping torque.
Friction linings contaminated with grease must be
exchanged immediately!
Front friction lining
1. Remove the soft-dock (
2. Remove the two Torx screws (
3. Exchange the friction lining (
4. Screw the two Torx screws back in.
5. Push the soft-dock back on.
Rear friction lining
1. Remove the Torx screw (
2. Exchange the friction lining (
3. Screw the Torx screw back in.
Side friction linings
1. Remove the outer red caps (
2. Knock the friction linings out towards the inside
( 15 -b).
3. Push the new friction linings into their holders from
the inside ( 16 -a).
4. Push the caps back on (
