Operating the appliance

CAUTION: Hazard of injury resp. burns!
• Casing surfaces, the grill plates and other accessory parts are
getting hot during operation!
• Hot surfaces are initially still hot, even after switch-off!
• Do not touch the edge of the hot grill plate when inserting the
pans!
• Insert the filled pans only up to the intended stop (indentation
in the raclette level).
1) Preheat the grill plate
• Place both reversible grill plates resp. a reversible grill plate and the natural stone grill plate (with the
juice groove upwards) on the designated holding devices of the appliance.
• Connect the mains plug to a socket.
• Preheat the appliance without pans at full power (rotary switch in position "MAX") for
o approx. 15 minutes when using 2 reversible grill plates.
o approx. 30 minutes when using 1 reversible grill plate and the natural stone grill plate.

2) Controlling the temperature

The temperature is infinitely variable as required. To do this, turn the rotary switch back and forth between
"MIN" and „MAX" in order to set the desired temperature.
• During the heating process the lamp lights red. When the pilot lamp goes off, the set temperature is
reached. The pilot lamp, cycling on and off during operation shows the thermostatic regulation of the
temperature.
CAUTION: That means that the pilot lamp does not glow temporarily, although the appliance is switched
on. Therefore, make sure that the control knob has been set to position "OFF" after use.

3) Grilling and raclette

• Equip the grill plates with the food of your choice. We recommend not to put too much foods on the
plates. For turning the foods use cooking utensils made of wood or plastic.
• Put the filled plans in the raclette grill level for gratinating.
TIP: Use the enclosed spatulas to move the foods in the pans or to push out the melted cheese. But you
can also use other kitchenware made of wood or plastic. However, pay attention that they do not have
longer contact with hot parts. Never use cooking utensils made of metal as those might damage the non-
stick coating.
NOTE: Don't put the empty pans in the raclette grill-level. Put hot pans only on heat-resistant surfaces.
4) Switch OFF
• For switching off the appliance, turn the rotary switch until position "OFF" and unplug the mains plug.
CAUTION: For a safe switch off, after every use the appliance has to be separated from the
mains by pulling the mains plug!
