Safety advices for using the appliance
CAUTION: Hazard of injury resp. burns!
• Casing surfaces, grill plate and other accessory parts are
getting hot during operation!
• Hot surfaces are still hot, even after switch-off!
• When using the grill, be aware of hot fat splatters and steam!
Thus, act with caution:
• We recommend using pot cloths and appropriate grill cutlery for your protection!
• Do not use the appliance as depositing rack or working top as it will get hot during
operation! As protection against fire, do generally not put any objects made of
paper, plastic, fabric or other inflammable material on hot surfaces!
• Never cover the grill plate, the natural stone and the heating element with aluminum
foil!
• Caution! Hazard of fire! Fat and oil can ignite when overheated. Therefore, food
containing fats and oils may only be prepared under supervision!
• Caution! Hazard of fire! When filling the pans, pay attention that the food does
not touch the heating element. Bread toasted too long can also ignite!
• Only use the original pans for gratinating!
• Don't put the empty pans in the raclette grill-level.
• Put hot pans only on a heat-resistant base.
• Do not transport the appliance when it´s hot. Appliance as well as accessory parts
must have cooled down completely before cleaning resp. transport!
• Observe the following instructions when installing the appliance:
o Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, stable and even surface (no varnished
surfaces, no table cloths, etc.).
o Place the appliance beyond children's reach.
o Leave a ventilation distance of at least 20 cm to all sides and 1 m above the
appliance to avoid damage by heat or fat splatters and to grant an unobstructed
work area. Take care of a free air circulation around the appliance.
o Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of sources of heat (oven, gas flame
etc.) or in explosive environments, where inflammable liquids or gases are
located.
o Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of or below curtains, wall cupboards
or other combustible materials.
• Caution! Hazard of fire! This appliance is not qualified to be built-in.
• Never pour cold water on the grill plate during or shortly after operation. Do also not
pour inflammable liquids on the grill plate or into the pans – the appliance is not
suitable for flambéing!
• Do not use the appliance as space heater.
• Pull the mains plug after each use for safe switch-off.
