4. Organes de commande et
raccordements
Quatre ports USB pour le raccordement aux 4 PC (douilles USB de type B),
"Upstream-Ports"
Chacune de ces 4 douilles USB peut être reliée à un PC, ce qui permet donc de
raccorder au total 4 PC.
Raccorder chaque douille au port USB d'un PC par le biais d'un câble corre-
spondant.
Quatre ports USB pour appareils USB (douilles USB de type A), "Downstre-
am-Ports"
Ces douilles permettent de raccorder vos appareils USB, p. ex. scanner USB,
modem USB, etc.
DEL pour la signalisation des PC
La DEL correspondant au port ( ) où un PC est raccordé s'allume faiblement.
Lorsque l'une des quatre touches ( ) est actionnée, la DEL correspondant au
port USB ( ) qui est relié au port USB ( ) s'allume.
Raccordement électrique : raccordement pour le bloc-secteur fourni
Relier cette prise avec le câble du bloc-secteur fourni.

Double-click on the open green lock symbol that can be seen at the bottom of the
window for each USB port. The lock symbol changes and the connection lines appe-
ar in red to indicate clearly that the device is locked .
The other PCs can still "take" and activate the locked device, because
the USB switch box does not activate a hardware lock.
The red lock symbol and red connection lines merely indicate to other
users that they are not to use the device at the moment.
However, after a double-click on the switchover button in the software,
the additional safety interrogation "This USB device has been set to
LOCK by its user. Do you still want to change the connection?" is dis-
played before the USB device is switched over to the next PC.
The lock is automatically reset after this.
7. Handling
Do not use the product immediately, if it is taken from a cold to a warm environment.
The condensation this would cause could destroy the product.
Let the USB switch box and the plug-in power pack reach room temperature
before connecting the USB switch box and the plug-in power pack to mains
voltage. This may take several hours.
Ensure that the insulation of no part of the product is either damaged or destroyed.
Live components may be exposed when covers are opened and/or components
(e.g. housing) are removed. Connection points may also be live.
The switch box must be disconnected from mains voltage and all other connectors
must be unplugged before the USB switch box is connected or maintenance, servi-
cing, or replacement of components or subassemblies are carried out.
Maintenance and repair of the USB switch box must always be carried out by SUI-
TABLY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL, who are familiar with the hazards involved and
with the relevant regulations (VDE-0100, VDE-0683, VDE-0701).
Always check the product for damage each time it is used!
If damage is found, the switch box must NOT be connected to
mains voltage! Fatal injury could occur!
