• To ensure safe operation we kindly request the user to follow the safety
instructions and the warning notes contained in these operating
instructions.
• The structures complies with safety class II (double insulation). Attenti-
on needs to be paid that the insulation (of the housing and/or the output
line) is neither damaged nor destroyed.
• Battery chargers and accessories should be kept out of reach of child-
ren.
• In commercial and industrial facilities the regulations for the prevention
of accidents as laid down by the professional trade association for elec-
trical equipment and devices need to be observed.
• The use of battery chargers and accessories in schools, training facili-
ties, do-it-yourself and hobby workshops should not be handled unless
supervised by trained, responsible personnel.
• Only use the charger when the housing is securely closed and screwed
together.
• Battery chargers must not be operated unattended.
• Avoid operation under adverse ambient conditions. This can lead to
damages of the sensitive electronics inside of the charger and therefo-
re could cause life-threatening danger to the user. Adverse ambient
conditions are:
- Too high air humidity (> 75 % relative, condensing)
- Wetness
- Dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvents, petrol
- Too high environmental temperatures (> approx. +40° C)
• When charging rechargeable batteries, always observe the instructions
of the corresponding rechargeable battery manufacturer.
• In the case of improper handling (too high charging currents or wrong
polarization) the rechargeable battery might be overloaded or destroy-
ed. At worst the rechargeable battery might explode and can cause
substantial damage.

Branchement/mise en service, charge
Branchez l'accu NiCd à recharger aux bornes de sortie du chargeur Multi
3, l'accu de l'émetteur à la fiche coaxiale (négatif à l'intérieur), l'accu de
récepteur à la fiche plate (BC, positif à l'intérieur) et le Power Pack à la
fiche Tamiya. Branchez ensuite le chargeur à une prise de courant du
réseau de tension alternative de 230 V. Si les accus sont branchés dans le
bon sens de la polarité, qu'ils ne sont pas défectueux (à haute impédance
/ interrompus) et que l'alimentation en courant fonctionne, les voyants
(rouges) doivent s'allumer. Faites bien attention à respecter la polarité de
branchement de l'accu.
La durée de charge dépend de la température environnante, de l'état de
l'accu, de son état de charge etc. et peut être grossièrement calculée avec
la formule suivante :
Durée de charge (en heures [h]) = -----------------------------------x 1,4
Une fois le temps de charge terminé, il faut d'abord débrancher le charge-
ur du courant et ensuite l'accu/les accus du chargeur.
Avertissement !
Afin qu'un accu continue à fonctionner parfaitement au bout d'une
longue durée (sans effet de mémoire), il est recommandé, en ce qui
concerne les accus NiCd, de ne connecter un pack d'accus que
déchargé. En outre, les accus doivent être déchargés/rechargés une
fois par mois (autodécharge, perte de capacité).
Attention !
- Un "léger" échauffement de l'accu pendant la charge est normal.
- Ne couvrez jamais le dessus ni le dessous de l'appareil avec des
journaux, des livres ou des objets du même genre pour éviter un
endommagement éventuel (par accumulation de chaleur).
