Connection
As power supply use a direct voltage source
with 12 volts output. Never try to operate the
camera with a different voltage.
The direct voltage source must be able to supply a cur-
rent with a minimum load capacity of 110 mA. Never
overload the voltage source.
The camera is connected via a BNC cable to the moni-
tor/TV. As voltage supply the camera has a low-volt jack.
Jacks:
BNC jacks (2):
Low-volt jack (1): voltage supply
Connect the dc source with the low-volt jack (1).
The dc source has to be switched off.
Plug: 5.5 / 2.1 mm
Make sure that the voltage is polarized cor-
rectly.
If necessary control it with a measuring

video signal
Connect the video input with the BNC jack (2). If your
monitor/TV only has one cinch input, you have to use an
adapter (BNC jack to cinch).
Set Up
After having connected the video output and the power
supply, the camera is ready for use.
Switch the dc source on.
Switch your TV or monitor on and select the input to
which the camera is connected (e.g., AV input on a TV).
The camera picture will appear on the monitor.
Should no picture appear on the monitor or any
other malfunction occur, take the following steps:
switch off the operating voltage straight away,
switch off the TV/monitor and again go through
the checklist "Troubleshooting", found further
back in this manual.
Hold the camera to the planned installation site.
If the image is not in focus, you can tune in the focus by
turning the objective (5). For this purpose you have to
unscrew the camera from the smoke detector. For this
you undo both screws (3) and take the camera mount
from the case.
