Clock time (CT)
Many stations transmit the current time in the RDS data. If a radio receives this signal, it sets the in-built clock
automatically.
Therefore, when you leave the transmission area, the RDS system has the advantage that it switches to a similar
transmitter station that can be better received. However, it only changes when it finds a better transmitter station with
the same programme.
Short signal variations due to reception cannot be eliminated by the RDS system either, since this would mean that
the car radio would repeatedly switch back and forth. The listener would be much more disturbed by this than by short-
term reception problems.
Another advantage of the RDS system is that the station name is displayed. The station name of an RDS station is
displayed in the car radio display.
Adjusting the options
• Press and hold the MENU button (2) for approx. 2 seconds.
• Turn the VOLUME dial (3), until TUNER is displayed.
• Briefly press the MENU button (2) again.
• The following menu items can be selected with the MENU button (2) and set with the VOLUME dial (3) as
previously described.
• To jump back one level in the menu, press the DOWN (11) button.
SEARCH
AUTO SEARCH starts an automatic search and saves the found stations to the station buttons (4).
PROGRAM TYPE starts an automatic search for stations which have the PTY code which must be preselected.
STEREO-MONO
STEREO = stereo reception in radio mode
MONO = mono reception in radio mode

When transmitter stations are weak switching to mono reduces interference.
