6. Installation and connection

6.1 Choosing a place of installation for the camera
and the monitor
Find a suitable place of installation from which the desired area can be observed.
A suitable place of installation for the camera and the receiver/monitor has the follo-
wing characteristics:
• Flat and vibration-free surface
• No direct sunlight
• Dry indoor location
For the camera and the receiver/monitor, select a place of instal-
lation which is not shielded by, for example, reinforced concre-
te walls, metallised mirrors or metal shelves. There should be
no devices with strong electric fields, such as mobile telepho-
nes, radios or electrical motors, close to the transmitter or the
receiver.
Do not point the camera directly toward bright sunlight or
toward strong or direct light sources as this may lead to overex-
posure.
Please note that the camera, the receiver/monitor and the provi-
ded wall power supplies are intended for dry indoor use only.
The above-mentioned circumstances can disturb radio transmission considerably or
limit its range.
Set up the receiver/monitor close to the surveillance monitor or TV set, but not
directly on the surveillance monitor itself. This might reduce the radio range consi-
derably.
The camera and the receiver/monitor are equipped with a fold-out stand at the back
to allow for a solid installation.
