Measuring the UV index
Press UV (B) to start measuring (possible in any operating mode).
The UV index is measured once for four seconds.
During measuring, turn the UV meter with the sensor (A)
in the direction of the sun to determine the maximum
value. Repeat this measurement if necessary.
During measuring, the display UV INDEX blinks and a signal sounds.
After measuring, the UV index is displayed on top. The preset skin
type, the solar protection factor and the possible sunbathing time are
displayed in sequence on the bottom.
CLEAR resets the sunbathing time to 00.
The maximum sunbathing time that can be displayed is 39 hours and
59 minutes. It is calculated with the preset skin type, the solar protec-
tion factor and the measured UV index value.
This calculated value only serves as a reference value,
because each skin is different and reacts differently to
solar radiation.
Operation with Sunbathing Timer
The possible sunbathing time is displayed after the UV index was
measured.
This time can be used as countdown time and warns you with a sig-
nal once it has expired. During this time, the UV index is measured at
10 minute intervals and the sunbathing time calculated in realtime.
Make sure that the UV sensor always points to the sun.
The alarm can be turned off with any key.
