tique.

Now the radio is assembled correctly and can be tested. Draw the design with your name and the date
in the schematic diagram on the last page of the instruction booklet. You should then copy or detach
this page and paste it in the radio housing. In this way, you can reconstruct everything, even after
many years, and you can thus carry out any repairs. This is also the case with old tube radios. Even
after many years, repairs are still possible, because the wiring diagram is always pasted in the radio.
Prepare the earth connection and the aerial wire. You should still have approx. one meter of your wire
left. Divide the section into two halves and screw in the 4 mm plug. The earth cable (red connector)
must be stripped to a length of several centimetres. So that you can establish a conductive connection
to an earth connection. Use a water pipe, for example, or the central heating as an earth. If you do not
have a suitable earth connection, the earth cable can remain free. It then interacts with the aerial wire
as a dipole antenna.

The First Test
The radio requires a 9 V block battery. Switch on the radio and turn the volume control to a medium
volume. The LED should then light up. Connect the earth wire to E and the aerial wire to A1.
Turn the feedback control to the centre position and search for a broadcasting station using the vari-
able capacitor switch. Keep on turning the feedback controller. The volume increases, so you have to
turn down the volume control. Find the setting with the best reception power, on the feedback control.
The reception power can change with the frequency setting, so you must readjust the feedback con-
troller. If you set the feedback controller too high, you hear loud whistling noises.
