Getting Started
• Insert the temperature sensor's plug in the contact of the the basic device (F).
• First turn the basic device switch (Switch C) to "ON", then you switch the receiver (switch 3) to "ON" posi-
tion.
The distance between the basic unit and the receiver should be no more than 30 m (clearly
visible). These so-called "free fi eld" range signals will be strongly reduced by walls, metal parts,
cables, wires, electronic devices and engines.
When the reciever no longer detects a signal, an alarm signal will be acitivated, and the display
(1) will show the message "RANGE OUT". You can stop the alarm signal by pushing any button
or by turning the signal off using the slide switch (2).
Using the basic device
a) Setting time to 12 or 24 hour mode, setting temperature mode to °C or °F
• Push the "MODE" button (H) lightly a number of times until "CLOCK" appears in the lower left corner of the LC-
display (A).
• Keep the "MODE" button (H) pressed for approx. 3 seconds, until the time blinks.
Please mind that the the set mode will end automatically if you haven't pushed any buttons for 5
seconds.
• Set the hours using the „HR+" (E) button and the minutes using the „MIN-" (I) button. For a quick adjust-
ment hold the corresponding button for a longer period of time.
• Push the „MODE" (H) button lightly until „12" or „24" fl ashes in the display. Make your choice with the
button "HR+" (E) for 12 h mode or "MIN-" (I) for 24 h mode. On using the mode 12h a "PM" appears in the
display left to the hours during the second half of the day.
• Push the „MODE" (H) button lightly until „°C" or „°F" fl ashes in the display. With the button "HR+" (E) you
chose „°C" (Celsius), with the button „MIN-" (I) you chose °F" (Fahrenheit).
• Push the "MODE" button (H) lightly to leave set mode. As an alternative, you may wait 5 seconds before pusing
any button, the you will automatically leave set mode and the settings will be activated.
b) Setting the alarm temperature
To avoid too high temperatures during frying, boiling and baking you can set specifi c alarm temperatures.
If the set temperature is overrun, an alarm signal will be activated (the sound may be deactivated using the
slide switch (B)).
• Push the "MODE" button (H) lightly a number of times until "CLOCK" appears in the lower left corner of the LC-
display (A).
• Set the desired alarm temperature using the buttons "HR+" (E) or "MIN-" (I). For a quick adjustment hold
the corresponding button for a longer period of time.
c) Setting the Countdown Timer
• Push the "MODE" button (H) lightly a number of times until "TIMER" appears in the lower left corner of the
LC-display (A).
• Set the hours using the „HR+" (E) button and the minutes using the „MIN-" (I) button (max. 23 hours, 59
minutes). For a quick adjustment hold the corresponding button for a longer period of time.
d) Starting/stopping the timer
• Press the "START/STOP-" (G) to start or stop the Countdown-Timer. When the timer is running, the symbol
"▼" fl ashes in the display.
• When the Countdown Timer has counted down (at "0:00"), an alarm signal sounds (also on the receiving
unit). You can end this by pressing any button.
e) Reset Countdown-Timer to "0:00".
• When the Countdown Timer is running, you may stop it by pressing the button "START/STOP" (G).
• To reset the Countdown Timer to "0:00", you keep either the „HR+" (E) button or the "MIN-" (I) button
depressed while pressing any other button.
f) Switch the tone signal on/off
• Use the slide switch (B) to switch the tone signal for the temperature on („

• Clean the temperature sensor before and after each time you have used it.
• Stick the temperature sensor gently into the food article you want to measure. Do not use force. Do not
stick the temperature sensor in the edges of the article, this may give the wrong measurement result.
Never bend the sensor cable.
• If the measured temperature overruns the set alarm temperature (ref. "b" above), the upper line on the
display of the basic device fl ashes "OVER COOK". If the slide switch (B) is in the position "
ditional tone signal will sound. This can be deactivated by pressing any of the keys.
The message "ALERT" fl ashes on the display of the receiver. If the slide switch (2) is in the position "
the additional tone signal will sound.
Using the receiver
a) Swtiching between display of temperature and Countdown Timer
• Push the "MODE" (7) lightly to switch between displaying temperature and Contdown Timer.
b) Setting the Countdown Timer
• Push the "MODE" button (7) lightly a number of times until "TIMER" appears in the lower left corner of the
LC-display (1).
• Set the hours using the „HR+" (4) button and the minutes using the „MIN-" (5) button (max. 23 hours, 59
minutes). For a quick adjustment hold the corresponding button for a longer period of time.
c) Starting/stopping the Countdown Timer
• Press the "START/STOP-" (6) to start or stop the Countdown-Timer. When the timer is running, the symbol
"▼" fl ashes in the display.
• When the Countdown-Timer has counted down (at "0:00"), an alarm signal sounds. You can end this by
pressing any button.
d) Resetting the Countdown Timer to "0:00".
• When the Countdown Timer is running, you may stop it by pressing the button "START/STOP" (6).
• To reset the Countdown-Timer to "0:00", you keep either the „HR+" (4) button of the die Taste „MIN-" (5)

f) Selecting the temperature unit °C/°F
• The receiver always displays the same temperature as the basic device (°C eller °F). Another display alternative
is not available. Besides, you use the basic device to set the desired temperature.
g) Using clip/stand
The clip on the backside of the receiver can be used to fasten the receiver to your belt.
The clip can also be used as a stand. To use it as a stand, fold out the hoop between the clip and the housing.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not need any maintenance except replacement of the batteries
Clean the device before and after measuring the temperature. Do not put the temperature sensor in water,
but use a clean, soft cloth and moisten gently with clean, hot water Remains of fat may be removed by an
ordinary spray cleaner. Remove the remains of the cleaner with clean water!
To clean the basic device and the receiver you only need a clean, dry and soft cloth. Do not press to hard, as
this may cause scratches or other malfunctions.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, these can cause discolouring of the surface
or even malfunctions.

As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
