Radio Kitchen Thermometer

Item no. 67 23 05
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The Radio Kitchen Thermometer is for measuring food temperatures (max. 200 °C) during frying, boiling
and baking.
There is a temperature sensor included, which is connected to the basic device. This has a display showing
both the measured temperature and the time. If the set temperature is overrun, an alarm will sound. The
programmable Countdown Timer is used for setting individual times for frying, boiling and baking.
The basic device use radio signals to transmit the temperature to the receiving unit. This enables monitoring
of the temperature, also when you are some distance away from the stove or oven.
Use of this device in any other way than as described above is not permitted. The safety instructions must
be observed at all times!
This product complies with the applicable National and European regulations. All names of companies and

• You must never place the complete unit in the oven. Only the temperature sensor and the
metal cable are temperature resistant.
The basic device and the receiver must be placed and used in normal environments with
normal temperatures.
• The temperature sensor is suited for temperatures up to max. +200°C. At high temperatures,
it may be broken. This involves loss of guarantee and warranty liabilities.
• The temperature sensor is not suited for use in a microwave.
• Use protection (e.g. potholders) when you put in/take out the temperature sensor - you might
get burned!
• Do not bend or pinch the temperature sensor. Make sure that the connection cable is not bent
or pinched.
• Be sure to clean the temperature sensor every time you have used it.
• Even if the product transmits very weak radio signals, they may induce disturbances in life
support systems in hospitals. Do not operate the device anymore. The same may be the case
in other areas.
• Do not leave the packing material laying around, as it can be a dangerous plaything for chil-
dren! Danger of suffocation!
General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct, when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to
plus/+ and minus/-).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
swallowed consult a doctor immediately, it can be fatal!
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into a fi re.
There is a risk of fi re and explosion!
• Old or fl at batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device. If not used for a longer period
(e.g. in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/accumulators.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns; there-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Only use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Use either 2 batteries or 2 rechargeable batteries; never mix batteries with rechargeable batteries. Always
use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same type and from the same manufacturer. Do not mix batter-

Setting of transmitting and receiving channels
Using the low DIP swith (L) of the basic device and the DIP switch (10) in the battery compartment of the
receiver unit you kan switch between four receiving/transmitting channels. A change of tuning is only neces-
sary when there are disturbances in receiving signals. Turn off both devices before you set transmitting/
receiving channels.
Inserting/replacing the batteries
• Open the battery compartment of the basic device and insert two batteries of type AAA/micro, with the
correct polarity (pay attention to plus /+ and minus/-). Close the battery compartment.
• Open the battery compartment of the receiver and insert two batteries of type AAA/micro, with the correct
polarity (pay attention to plus /+ and minus/-). Close the battery compartment.

Always set the DIP switch on the basic device and the receiver unit in the same positions (e.g.
always the left DIP switch down and the right DIP switch up) or else the receiving unit will not
fi nd the basic unit's transmitted signals.
Instead of non-rechargable batteries, rechargable NiMH batteries can be used. Low voltage
(battery = 1,5 V, rechargable battery 1,2 V) and low effekt will reduce will reduce both life span
and range.
For long and safe usage we recommend using alakaline batteries.
You need to change batteries when the the contrasting light in the display gets dim, when a bat-
tery symbol appears in the display or when there are no visible characters in the display when
you turn the unit on.
