1. Intended Use
The outdoor sensor ASH555 serves to measure the temperature
and air humidity at the location of the sensor and the radio trans-
mission of the values to a suitable weather station, e.g. the WS555
(Conrad order no. 65 01 55)
The outdoor sensor can be installed very flexibly at different loca-
tions (e.g. outside, basement, greenhouse, garage, store room, etc.)
and thus allows you to monitor a certain location.

10. Tips and Notices
Range and Interferences
Page
• The outdoor sensor works in a range of 868 MHz, which is also
used by other radio services. This may restrict the function and
the range of other appliances working on the same respectively a
neighbouring sequence.
• The stated range of up to 100 m is the free-field range, meaning
the range between sender and receiver upon sight contact. In
practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings etc.
between the sender and the receiver, which reduce the range
accordingly.
Further Causes for Reduced Ranges:
• Radio frequency interferences of all kinds
• Construction of any kind and vegetation
• Conductive metal parts located close to respectively within or
near the radio distance, e.g. radiators, metal-frame insulated
glass windows, reinforced concrete ceilings, etc.
• Influence of the antenna's radiation characteristics due to the dis-
tance from the sender or receiver to conductive surfaces or
objects (also to the human body or the floor).
• Broadband interferences in urban areas that reduce the signal-
noise ratio; the signal is no longer detected in this "noise".
• Irradiation from badly screened electronic appliances, e.g. com-
puters operated with open casings, or similar.
