12. Handling

Please observe the additional safety instructions in each chapter of these instructions.
Place the device on a level, firm and sufficiently large area. Do not place the device on valuable furniture
surfaces as this may cause dents or scratches. Use a suitable base if applicable. You can also attach
a suitable tripod on the bottom.
The following unfavourable conditions are to be avoided at the device location or during transport:
- direct sunlight
- damp or excessively high air humidity
- extreme cold or heat
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- strong magnetic fields, e.g. close to machines or loudspeakers
Never switch the device on immediately after having taken it from a cold to a warm environment. The
resulting condensation water may damage the device. The mains adapter also involves the risk of an
electric shock!
Leave the device switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature. This may take several
hours.
Make sure the insulation of the whole product is neither damaged nor destroyed. Never open the
device!
Check the product for damage before each use!
If you notice any damage, remove the inserted batteries and DO NOT connect the product with the
mains voltage via the external power unit. Take the product to a specialist workshop or dispose of it in
an environmentally friendly way.
If the device will not be used for a longer period of time, remove the inserted batteries/rechargeable
batteries and separate it from an external power unit.
Never penetrate the ventilation slots and openings of the device with pointy objects (e.g. pens, needles,
paper clips, etc.) as this may destroy the device.
When installing the device, make sure that no cables are bent or squashed (e.g. the cables of your
headphones or a power pack).
Install all cables in such a way that nobody may trip over them.
Regularly check the technical safety of the product e.g. for damage of the housing.
If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be turned off and
precautions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. Switch off the device, disconnect
it from any external power unit, disconnect the external power unit from the mains voltage. Also remove
any inserted batteries.
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible, if
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not operate any longer and
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress in transit.
