•
To avoid any possibility of electric shock, ensure that you do not come into contact, even
indirectly, with the test probes and the terminals being measured (measuring points) during
the measurement operation.
•
The voltage between any measuring input of the meter and earth must not exceed 300 V
DC/V AC rms.
•
Never work with the meter in rooms or under adverse environmental conditions where
flammable gases, vapours or dust are or may be present. For your own safety, it is crucial to
prevent the multimeter or measuring leads from becoming damp or wet. Do not operate in
the immediate vicinity of:
a)
Strong magnetic fields (loudspeakers, magnets)
b)
Electromagnetic fields (transformers, motors, coils, relays, contactors, electromagnets
etc.)
c)
Static electricity fields (charges/discharges)
d)
Transmitting antennas or RF generators
•
Do not use the multimeter shortly before, during or immediately after a thunderstorm
(lightning flash/high-energy surges!). Make sure that your hands, shoes, clothing, the floor,
multimeter and measuring leads, circuits and parts of circuits etc. are absolutely dry.
•
If it has been ascertained that safe operation is no longer possible, the appliance must be
taken out of use and secured from being accidentally switched on. It can be assumed that
safe operation is no longer possible when:
-
there is visible damage to the appliance,
-
the appliance is no longer working and
-
the appliance has been stored for an extended period in unsuitable conditions or
-
it has been exposed to adverse transport conditions.
•
Opening covers or removing parts can lead to live parts being exposed, unless this can be
performed manually. Connection points can also be live. Before being balanced, serviced
or repaired or having any parts or components replaced, if the appliance must be opened,
it must first be isolated from any source of voltage or voltage circuits. If, subsequently, it is
absolutely necessary to balance, service or repair the open appliance while live, this must
be carried out only by a qualified technician familiar with the risks involved and the relevant
regulations.
•
Never switch on the multimeter immediately after it has been moved from a cold into a warm
room. The condensation created may destroy your appliance. Leave the appliance switched
off until it has reached room temperature.
•
Servicing, adjustment or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist
workshop.

Advisory Service or other experts.
