b) Application example: measuring a monitor
b1 Switch on the PC and the EMC Detector.
b2 Hold the detector in the direction of the screen of the PC mo-
nitor (e.g. 15 inch, low-radiation, MPR II) at a distance of ap-
prox. 50 cm to the center of the screen. With the detector
held horizontally, the display shows approx. 5 mgauss (yellow
LED).
b3 The detector is marked with the word SENSOR. The sensor
of the EMC Detector is located beneath this marking. There-
fore, now hold the detector vertically (with the LED display
pointing forwards) and position the measuring device at the
monitor so that the marking on the detector is located at the
center of the screen. In this position, the display shows the
maximum for the screen, e.g. 10 mgauss.

Disposal

If your Detector has become unusable (irreparable, no display even
with new batteries) please dispose of it according to current legal
regulations.

Maintenance

Apart from changing batteries and cleaning the housing from time
to time, the EMC Detector is maintenance-free. Under no circum-
stances may the device be opened (except for changing batteries).
This includes any attempts at repair! Opening the device (unless
changing the battery) cancels all possible claims under the warran-
ty. For cleaning the device, use only a clean, dry, antistatic lint-free
cleaning rag.
Important!
Never use cleaning agents containing carbon, petrol, alcohol
or similar since these will attack the surface finish of the mea-
suring device. Also, the vapors are a health and explosion ha-
zard. Never use sharp tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes,
etc. when cleaning.
