UK │ 4. Safety instructions and warnings
 Be sure to observe the relevant regulations
for electrical installation; e.g. EN 50110-1, in
Germany this is particularly VDE 0100,
with the corresponding parts.
 A mains isolation device with contact
openings of at least 3 mm at each pole is
mandatory.
 Only connect unit to a permanently wired
electrical installation with NYM-O/NYM-J,
(0.75 mm² to 1.5 mm²) cables.
 The units may only be operated using the
voltage and frequency shown on the rating
plate.
 Make electrical connections according to
wiring diagram.
 The degree of protection stated on the
rating plate is only guaranteed if installation
is undertaken correctly and if the connection
cable is correctly guided into the unit through
the self-sealing grommet. The self-sealing
grommet must tightly seal the cable
sheathing. The terminal box cover must be
correctly fitted.
 With protection class I, connect the PE
conductor and check the connection.
 Check protective-conductor opening on
housing.
 Unit may also be energized even when at
a standstill and may be switched on automa-
tically by sensors (time delay, humidity etc.)
or by the thermal protection in the motor
winding. Maintenance and fault finding only
permissible when carried out by trained
specialists.
Risk of death from carbon monoxide
when operating with air-ventilated
fireplaces. Ensure sufficient supply air
intake during operation with air-ventilated
fireplaces.
The fans may only be installed in rooms,
apartments or residential units of a
comparable size, in which air-ventilated
fireplaces are installed if:

● parallel operation of air-ventilated fireplaces
for liquid or gaseous fuels and the air-
extracting equipment can be prevented via
safety devices, or
● the extraction of exhaust gas from the air-
ventilated fireplaces is monitored by special
safety equipment.

5. Product information

EVN 15 with airstream-operated shutter.
EVN 15 P with airstream-operated shutter
and with approx. 1 m long pull-cord for
manual operation.

6. Operation: Switching on/off

EVN 15: The fan is switched on or off with a
switch that is to be provided by the customer.
EVN 15 P: The fan has an integrated pull-
cord. Pull the pull-cord to switch the fan
on/off.
Ensure sufficient air supply during
operation.
Fan with thermal overload protection.
In the case of thermal overload, it
switches the motor off and auto-
matically turns it on again after the
motor has cooled down.
7. Environmental conditions and
operating limits
● Permitted maximum air temperature
+ 40 °C.
● Sufficient supply air intake must be en-
sured during operation with air-ventilated
fireplaces. The maximum permitted
pressure difference per living unit is 4 Pa.
● Storage: Store unit exclusively in a dry
location (-20 to +50 °C).
