DANGER Danger if the relevant regula-
tions for electrical installations are not ob-
served.
● Before installing the electrics, shut down all
supply circuits, deactivate the mains fuse and se-
cure it so it cannot be switched back on. Attach a
warning sign in a clearly visible place.
● Be sure to observe the relevant regulations for
electrical installation; e.g. DIN EN 50110-1. In
Germany, particularly observe VDE 0100, with
the corresponding sections.
● A mains isolation device with contact openings
of at least 3 mm at each pole is mandatory. Only
connect unit to a permanently wired electrical in-
stallation and with NYM-O / NYM-J type electrical
cables (3 x 1.5 mm²).
● The unit may only be operated using the
voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate.
● Make electrical connections according to wiring
diagram.
● Degree of protection IP X4 only if installed as
intended between ducts (ventilation ducts), on
the inlet and outlet side with a duct length of at
least 1 m and if the connection cable is properly
inserted into the terminal box. The terminal box
cover must be properly fitted so that the sur-
rounding seal is tight against the terminal box all
the way around.
CAUTION Exercise caution when hand-
ling packaging materials.
Store packaging material out of the reach of chil-
dren (risk of suffocation due to swallowing).

Unit versions
ERR 10/1 ... ERR 31/1: Centrifugal duct fans,
with external rotor capacitor motor, standard
model, with nominal sizes DN 100 to DN 315. Op-
erating capacitor in terminal box.
ERR 10/1 S, ERR 16/1 S: Centrifugal duct fans,
powerful design with wider impeller, nominal size
DN 100 or DN 160.
ERR 10/1 EC ... ERR 31/1 EC: Centrifugal duct
fans with efficient EC motor, nominal sizes DN
100 to DN 315.

• ERR 10/1 ... ERR 31/1, ERR 10/1 S and ERR
16/1 S with thermal overload protection. Fan
motor thermally protected by temperature
sensor in the motor winding. Overload protec-
tion switches fan off automatically in the event
of overheating.

8 Transport, storage

8.1 Transport
DANGER During transport, by falling unit,
when using unauthorised means of transport
or lifting gear.
Bear in mind the weight (technical data) and
centre of gravity (centre). Observe the maximum
permitted loading capacity for lifting gear and
means of transport. Do not stand under a sus-
pended load.
NOTICE Unit damage in case of incorrectly at-
tached transport equipment.
Do not place load on sensitive components (im-
peller, terminal box).
8.2 Storage
● Store the fan only in a horizontal position, in a
suitable, dry room. Ambient temperature -10 to +
60 °C.
● Before installation, check that the motor bearing
is working properly.
● Maico accepts no liability for corrosion damage
caused by improper storage, e.g. storage in a
damp room.
