Failure Diagnosis Table

For troubleshooting the following Fig. lists possible malfunctions and
symptoms and the remedial action to be taken to restore the system's
serviceability.
Symptoms
Compressor does not work Fuse or relay defective
Magnetic clutch burned
Compressor blocked
Low pressure switch open
HP switch opens Excessive refrigerant
Condenser coil is dirty
Condenser motor/motors stopped
LP switch opens Lack of refrigerant
Dirty or defective expansion valve
Dirty evaporator coil
Excessively contaminated air filter
Evaporator ventilator is stopped
Condenser motor is Electric wiring connections with no contact
stopped
Condenser motor is stopped
Burned fuse or defective relay

Probable cause
Replace fuse or relay
Repair or replace clutch
Repair or replace compressor
Lack of gas on system or defective low pressure switch
Drain and collect refrigerant excess
Clean the coil
Repair or replace motors
Check for leakage, fill to correct amount
Clean or replace the valve
Clean the coil
Clean or replace the filter
Replace the evaporator fan
Repair wiring harness
Replace condenser motor
Replace fuse and/or relay
