6.2 Manual adjustment of the brewing pressure

You can individually adjust and change the brewing pressure by turning the adjusting screw, choosing a value
between approx. 8.5 and 12 bar.
To adjust the brewing pressure, proceed as follows:

Remove the cup warming tray, take some water out of the brew group by pressing the coffee button.

Place the portafilter with the blind filter into the brew group.

Push the coffee button and read the pump pressure gauge.

Choose the desired brewing pressure by turning the adjusting screw with a coin or a flat screwdriver.

You can reduce the brewing pressure by turning the screw anti-clockwise and increase it by turning it clockwise.

Read the pump pressure gauge to see the chosen brewing pressure.

Now the machine is ready for use again.

6.3 Preparing coffee

Use the portafilter with the corresponding filter (1 cup) for the preparation of 1 cup and use the big filter (2 cups) to
prepare two cups. Make sure that the filter is firmly locked into the portafilter.
Fill the ground coffee (with the respective grind for espresso or Café Crème) into the filter (approx. 7 g – 9 g).
Compress the ground coffee with the tamper. Clamp the portafilter firmly into the brew group.
Only freshly ground coffee allows for an optimal coffee result. Therefore, use a professional coffee grinder. In our
assortment you will find several professional and compact coffee grinders.
Place the cup under the spouts of the portafilter (to prepare two cups, place one cup under each spout).
The coffee preparation can begin after having pressed the coffee button. In general, the brewing time should be
around 23 to 25 seconds. The volume for a single espresso is circa 25 to 30 ml. The pump pressure gauge indicates
approx. 9-11 bars. During coffee preparation, the fresh water is channelled back over the expansion valve. When the
cup is filled, press the coffee button on the front panel again.
The remaining pressure/water will be discharged into the drip tray by the outlet connection.

6.4 Dispensing of hot water

Place an adequate container (with heat-insulated handle) under the steam/ hot water dispenser. By operating the
pump/ hot water switch ("hot water switch") and opening the valve you can dispense hot water.

6.5 Dispensing of steam

The CASA IV makes it possible to generate large amounts of steam in order to heat or froth beverages, e.g. milk or
punch.
Please follow the instructions below. Do not bring the milk to a boil, otherwise frothing milk will not be possible. For
cappuccino and white coffee preparation, first brew the coffee and then start steam dispensing.
For high-pressure steam dispensing, the water in the boiler has to be heated to more than 100 °C.
Important!
Operate the steam switch. The indicator of the pump pressure gauge may move slightly.
Switch on the steam function (the button is pushed).
Open the steam valve for approx. 5 seconds to reduce the boiler water capacity and generate a bigger steam volume.
Repeat this process twice in intervals of 20 seconds each.
Immerse the steam nozzle at the end of the steam dispenser into the milk. Now re-open the steam dispenser and heat
or froth the liquid.
