Putting into Operation

The machine operates optimally with a pressure of
6.3 bar (90 psi) measured at the air inlet with the ma-
chine running.
Before connecting units with lever start to the air sup-
ply, operate the lever 6 several times.
Switching On/Off
If the machine does not start, e.g. after not being used
for a longer time, disconnect the air supply and turn
the tool holder 1 by hand. Adhesive forces are elimi-
nated in this manner.
For an interruption of the air supply or reduced
operating pressure, switch off the machine.
Check the operating pressure and start again
when the pressure returns to normal.

Type of Clutch
The machines have torque-dependent
switch-off clutches that can be ad-
justed over a wide range. They re-
spond when the adjusted torque is
reached.
Thrust Start with Switch-Off Clutch
Switching on: Apply axial pressure to the tool.
Switching off: The machine switches off automatical-
ly when the torque setting is reached.
For premature relieving of the pressure on the
tool, the pre-set torque is not achieved.

Type of Clutch
The machines have a torque depend-
ent S-Plus clutch that is adjustable
over a wide range. It reacts when the
torque setting is reached.
Bypassing the Disengagement
The switching off of the torque can be
bypassed by pressing the lever 6 in
order to screw into materials of differ-
ent hardness (e.g., wood with knots).

Thrust and Lever Start with S-Plus Clutch
Thrust Start
Switching on: Apply axial pressure to the tool.
Switching off: The machine switches off automatical-
ly when the torque setting is reached.
When additional torque is required, the S-Plus can be
activated (switch-off bypass) by means of the lever
start device.
Lever Start
Switching on: Press the lever 6.
switch-off is by-passed and an over-
load clutch reacts instead.
Switching off: Release the lever 6.
When the actuation lever (lever start) or the
tool pressure (thrust start) is released prema-
turely, the torque setting will not be reached!

Working Instructions

Before performing any work on the machine it-
self, disconnect the air supply.
Vacuum Pick-Up of Screws (Fig.
Screw out the screw for vacuum screw pick-up 7 to
the stop.
Remove the screw cap 2 from the housing 4 (left-hand
threads!). Screw off the sleeve nut 3.
Insert the blade 13 into the tool holder 1 and fasten
with the sleeve nut 3. Slide the return spring 11 of the
guide sleeve over the blade 13 and the sleeve nut 3.
Insert the guide bushing into the screw cap 2 and
screw the screw cap 2 onto the housing 4 again.
Keep the workplace clean!
Contaminated air can be detrimental to the
vacuum screw pick-up.
Setting the Torque (Fig.
Remove the screw cap 2 from the housing 4 (left-hand
threads!). Screw off the sleeve nut 3.
Remove the housing 4 (left-hand threads!).
Pull out the clutch 14. Insert the Allen key 15 into the
hex head of the clutch shaft and hold the clutch in this
manner. With a 12 mm spanner, hold the hex nut 16
and, by turning the 12 mm spanner, adjust the spring
tension a little at a time.
Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher
torque, in the counter clockwise direction, a lower
toque.
Begin with low setting values.
Reassemble the machine in the reverse order.
Caution!
For soft bolting actions, the clutch no longer
ratchets even for low torque settings.
