The switching distance, i.e. the water level difference between the switch on and off point can be individually set.
To ensure proper functioning, follow the instructions below:
The mounting points and the length of the freely moveable ends of the float cable must be set to the desired level.
It should be noted that the switch of the pump is located below the supply line, in order to prevent back pressure
of the medium to be pumped. The switch-off point must be above the top edge of the pump housing, so that no air
pockets can form in the pump. At times it is necessary to bleed the pump.
Never throw the float with cable into the medium, since the correct switching is only possible with a rotary
movement of the float around the mounting point of the cable. Possible consequences of non-compliance are
flooding (pump does not turn on), or destruction of the pump by running dry (pump does not stop).
When using separate floats for pump start, pump stop and alarm, the switching levels are to be chosen as above.
The alarm float should switch at about 10 cm above the pump switch-on point, but always below the inlet.
Important: After each change of the float mounting, it is necessary to check the proper function of the float switch
by performing a trial run.

5.3. Start-Up

This chapter contains all important instructions for the operator to ensure safe commissioning and operation of the
machine. The following information must be strictly observed and reviewed:


After an extended down time, this data must be also checked and any detected deficiencies must be
rectified!
The operation and maintenance manual must always be close to the machine, or be kept in a designated
place where all operators can access it at all times.
To avoid damage to persons or property during operation of the machine, the following points must be observed:
The commissioning of the machine must be carried out only by qualified and trained personnel in
accordance with the safety instructions.

The entire staff working with the machine must receive, read and understood the operating
instructions.

Check all safety devices and emergency stops before commissioning.

Electrical and mechanical adjustments may only be performed only by qualified employees.

This machine is only suitable for the use of the specified operating conditions.

5.4. Preparatory Work

The machine has been designed and mounted according to state of the art, so that under normal operating
conditions it operates reliably and has a long operating life. However, this requires, the compliance with all
requirements and instructions. During delivery, small oil leakages of the mechanical seal are acceptable, but must
be removed before lowering or immersion it into the medium to be pumped.
Please check the following points:

Cable routing - no loops, with some slack

Check temperature of the medium and immersion depth - see machine data sheet

If a hose is used on the pressure side, it must be flushed with clean water before use to ensure that
deposits will not cause blockages

With wet well installation, the sump pit must be cleaned.

The pressure and suction piping must be cleaned and all slides must be opened.

The pump housing must be flooded, i.e. it must be completely filled with the medium and no air
should be inside. The bleeding can be done by appropriate venting devices in the system or, if
available, by venting screws at the discharge nozzle.

Check accessories, piping, hanging device for tight and correct fit

Inspect existing level controls or dry run protector

5.5. Electrical system

When laying and selecting electrical cables and when connecting the motor, the relevant local and VDE
regulations must be observed.
Danger from electric current!
Improper use of electricity may result in death! All pumps with bare cable ends must be connected by a
qualified electrician.
