pressure cooker. To ensure
the food cooks properly keep to
the recommended amounts
shown in the cooking time chart.
The scale inside the cooker is
an aid to measuring the right
amounts.

Food amounts
The pressure cooker may be filled

to a maximum of 2/3 to ensure it
works correctly. At least 1/4 l. of
liquid is required to produce
steam, whether you are cooking

with the insert or not. In the case
of food that froths up (e.g. broth,

pulses) the cooker must only be
half-filled.(Please refer to Cooking
whole food on page 28 for further
information.)
If you want to brown the food
before cooking (e.g. onions,
diced meat etc), you can use
the WMF PERFECT PLUS like any
other saucepan. To finish cooking,
before closing the cooker, stir
to remove any residues and add
the required amount of liquid
(at least & l.).
Closing the lid
Make sure that the sealing ring
and the rim of the lid are clean.
Check whether the ball on the
underside of the lid in the safety
valve

is visible in the lower
chamber of the valve.

Instructions
If the ball is in the upper chamber
of the safety valve in the lid 9, press
it into the lower part.

Remove the handle, check the
manoeuvrability of main valve
and cooking indicator

cooking indicator seal

Place the handle and sealing ring
in the lid. Put the lid on the sauce-
pan and close.
Heating up
Place the closed pressure cooker
with food inside on the hob and
turn up to full heat.
Air escapes from the automatic
heating regulator

until the valve is heard to close and
pressure can build up. The cooking
indicator

rises, the yellow pres-
sure indicator ring and both orange
rings are visible.

Reduce the heat to time it so that
the required orange ring (1 or 2, see
cooking times chart) remains just
visible.
