1.8 Functional description
The wire rope winch BETA SL is a drum winch with spur gear (SL1 - SL3) respective worm gear (SL0).
The load is held in every position by an electromagnetic ventilating disk brake.
The winch is provided with electric remote-control switching with mounted-in push-buttons up/down,
emergency stop push-button/switch and main switch.
For loads of 1000 kg and more an electronic overload protection is required.

Mounting Instructions
2.1 Mounting:
Attention
After having removed the transport blocks the winch may tilt to the motor side.
Therefore the winch has to be secured against tilting before mounting.
Pay attention to crane suspension points! (not at size SL0)
The mounting structure must be designed to sustain the max. forces imposed
by the winch (impact coefficient acc. to DIN15018 has to be considered)
Pay careful attention that the mounting surface is flat and true.
Only fix the winch by means of good quality screws.
Tighten the screws evenly.
Secure the screws.
Pay attention to unhindered rope coiling!

2.3 Mounting positions
The wire rope winches may be mounted in different positions.
Fix the ventilation screw, the oil drain screw and the oil level screw acc. to following drawings.
At size SL0 it no alterations of the ventilation screw, the oil drain screw and the oil level screw are nec-
essary. Worm gear is lifetime lubricated and suitable for all mounting positions.
Pay attention to oil quantity! (see table)
