2.5 Bus mode – models 1338-20/-21 and models 1340-20/-21
If the emergency exit control terminal is to be used in operating mode 2 at the TS-Bus in
conjunction with a bus control panel 925, control and monitoring of the emergency exit
continues to be performed by the control terminal. The complete functional scope of the control
terminal as described above and also the sequence of the individual functions are available
practically without modification in the bus mode. The description of additional control and
monitoring possibilities made available by bus control panel 925 are described in the operating
instructions for the bus control panel 925.
2.5.1

Bus connection

To allow the emergency exit terminal to be operated in conjunction with the bus control panel
925, a data connection must be created via a two-wire bus line between the units. The bus line
must be connected at the emergency exit terminal at terminals A and B. When connecting,
ensure that the bus line is poled and consequently has to be correctly connected to the user.
Reverse polarity at the bus line would result in a short circuit which would block the complete
bus system and which can destroy the units.
2.5.2

Setting the user address at the emergency exit terminal

Bus operation must be set using slide switch S 4.5, and each emergency exit terminal assigned a
user address. This is set using rotary switches S2 and S3, paying attention to ensure that no user
address is assigned twice, and that the address 0 is not assigned.
The description below explains how to set the user address.
