Recommendations for application planning
•
Observe the climatic and mechanical environmental conditions specified in
the technical specifications.
•
The device is suitable for use in industrial environments (IP65)
•
When selecting the installation site, avoid daylight and widely varying
lighting effects on the object. Shading should be provided to block unde-
sirable incident light.
Note
The SIMATIC MV220 cannot be used for safety-related applications
(e.g. protection of persons) due to its physical characteristics.
Installation/Mounting

Mounting the SIMATIC MV220
Seven M4 fixing holes (see dimension drawing) are used to mount the
SIMATIC MV220 (e.g. on the device holder of the fixing system). The fixing
system for industrial sensors is optionally available as an accessory.

Grounding the SIMATIC MV220
It may be necessary to ground the sensor to the plant to prevent electro-
magnetic interference.
You must use the four external M4 fixing holes (see dimension drawing) to
connect to ground.

Safety measures
The SIMATIC MV220 should be operated with a fuse that complies with
UL248-14 or an NEC Class 2 power supply.
