Installing the QUICKPARK System
The QUICKPARK System must be installed
by a qualified specialist workshop.
Mercedes-Benz recommends a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre for this pur-
pose.
General Notes
!
When parking, pay particular attention
to objects that are below or above the
sensors, for example flowerpots or tow
bars. The QUICKPARK System will not
detect these types of objects near the
vehicle. You can otherwise damage the
vehicle or the objects.
The sensors must be kept free of dirt, ice
or slush. Otherwise, they will not function
correctly. Clean the sensors regularly,
taking care not to scratch or damage
them ( Page 13).
Snow, and objects which absorb ultrasonic
waves might not be detected by the
sensors.
Sources of ultrasonic waves, such as a car
wash, the air braking systems of lorries or
a jackhammer, can interfere with the
QUICKPARK System.
The QUICKPARK System might not
function properly on uneven terrain.
Approach objects slowly when parking, as
you would normally do when parking.
Avoid reversing quickly towards an object,
otherwise the QUICKPARK System will not
be able to warn you in time.
Minimum Distance
The minimum distance between sensors
and object is approx. 12 inch (30 cm).
If an object is in this area, you will hear a
continuous warning tone. If the object is
closer than the minimum distance, it might
not be detected.
Warning Tone
The presence of an object is indicated by
interval warning tones. The frequency of
the tones increases as the vehicle nears
the object. The interval warning tone
becomes a continuous warning tone when
the vehicle is directly next to the object.
Parking in Reverse Next to a Wall
A continuous warning tone is emitted
when parking in reverse next to a wall at a
distance less than 12 inch (30 cm). This
means that the system was not able to de-
tect/send a warning signal indicating the
object behind the vehicle. If the distance to
the wall on the side is greater than 12 inch
(30 cm), an interval warning tone is emit-
ted and objects behind the vehicle can
only be detected from a distance of ap-
prox. 12 inch (30 cm). The interval warning
tone then switches into a
continuous warning tone.
