Never connect the probes to a power source
when conducting resistance measurements, this
may destroy the unit.
Make sure the capacitors are discharged before
measurements are taken in order to avoid incor-
rect results. The measuring principle is based on
a comparison between a reference voltage and a
known reference resistance value.
Procedure
1. Connect the red measuring probe to the "VΩ"
input (13) and the black probe to the COM input (5).
2. Slide the function switch (10) to the position "
confirmation sound, the word "OL" appear on the display, the unit
"Ω" and simultaneously the continuity test symbol " ".
3. Now connect the measuring probes to the resistor you want to
measure.
4. The display shows the measuring value in Ohm and the analogue
bar diagram.
5. If the measured resistor has below 40 Ohm, you will additionally
hear a signal sound.
The resistance measuring rage of the unit is between 0 and 400 Ohm.
When using the resistance measuring you can use the "HOLD" and the
"∆ZERO" function.
Hints
To determine the inherent resistance of the measuring probes, first
shorten them out by connecting the probes. The displayed value is
the inherent resistance of the probes. This value has to be de-
ducted from the measured total result in order to achieve a correct
final result.
To simplify this procedure, just press the button "∆ZERO" while the
measuring probes are touching each other. This way the resistance
value of the probes is automatically deducted. On the display
"∆ZERO" will appear for confirmation.
