OPTISWITCH of type series 5**0C VF10.C, VF15.C, VF11.C, VF16.C with integral oscillator
SW E60NEX have intrinsically safe circuits. The connection of these intrinsically safe circuits is made
on the terminals which are located in an Ex „i" connection compartment.
Supply and signal circuit:
(Terminals no:.1[+], 2[-]
The intrinsically safe circuits are galvanically separated from parts which can be earthed.
The intrinsically safe supply and signal circuit may correspond to category ia or ib for applications
requiring instruments of category 2 or 1/2; the flame proofing identification is EEx ib IIC T6 if
connected to a circuit of category ib.
For applications requiring instruments of category 1, the intrinsically safe supply and signal circuit of
category ia.
For applications requiring instruments of category 1 OPTISWITCH should be preferably connected to
appropriate instruments with galvanically separated intrinsicaly safe circuits.
Remark: The flame proofing identification is: II 2 G EEx ia IIB T6 / II 2 G EEx ib IIB T6,
II 1G EEx ia IIB T6 resp. II 1/2 G EEx ia IIB T6 in case of power supply via a circuit of
group IIB.
