Instructions for use

Applying the opaque
The Duceragold Kiss paste opaque cover the frame-
work in a layer of uniform thickness in the basic
colour selected. It is recommended to perform two
opaque firings.
When using alloys containing copper (such as
Degunorm), it is necessary to use the Degunorm
Classic base paste instead of the standard opaque
before the first opaque firing. The Degunorm Classic
base paste reliably covers the dark copper oxide,
effectively preventing any discolouration of the ve-
neering ceramic. The Duceragold Kiss paste opaque
and Classic base paste can be applied easily with
a standard paste opaque brush, without diluting.
If the paste changes its consistency over time and
becomes less easy to apply, the original consistency
may be restored by adding a small quantity of paste
opaque fluid. Alternatively, the framework may be
coated with a very thin paste opaque fluid layer
(see fig. 5– 6).
Caution: Use only very small quantities of paste
opaque fluid. Using too much paste opaque fluid
may result in cracks and bubbles during opaque
firing.

Aesthetic Line Basic
In the standard layering technique (opaque/dentine/
incisal), highly aesthetic veneers can be created
within a minimum of time. Start by building up the
dentine core and then use the cut-back technique
to obtain room for the incisal layer. Rebuild the cut-
back portion of the crown with incisal material. This
is followed by the first dentine firing (see table 2).
Complete to the original contour using the appro-
priate dentines and incisals. This is followed by the
second dentine firing (see table 2) and the finishing
of the restoration. Finally, this is followed by the
glaze firing (see table 2), which may be performed
with or without glaze or Duceragold Kiss stains for
special tooth characteristics (see fig. 7– 9).

Ceramic shoulder
• When creating a ceramic shoulder, use a carbide
bur to reduce the crown margin so it ends 0,5–0,8 mm
above the lowest part of the chamfer or ledge. Also,
ensure that the crown margin tapers off softly to
avoid tension in the ceramic material.
• Sandblast the framework inside (especially the
margin) and outside carefully, as described initially,
and afterwards clean the framework (steam-cleaner).
• Mark the preparation border with a graphite-free
pencil and seal die as usual, e.g. with superglue.
• Apply Ducera-Sep ceramic insulation generously.
Expose the insulation to the air and apply a
second layer.
• Mix the shoulder margin material (SM 1–5) with the
SD Quick modelling liquid. Afterwards complete the
margin area by using the shoulder margin porcelain.
Apply the margin porcelain in the cervical quarter.
Let the material dry, maybe by using a heat source,
and lift the coping carefully from the die. Bake the
shoulder margin after the recommendation.
• The gap created by the shrinkage of the ceramic
can be complemented by a second firing or
after the glaze by using the final shoulder margin
materials (F-SM 1–5) (see fig. 10 –12).
