any field changes very quickly. Move the sensor so
that you can determine the maximum field strength
of the source of interference.
Magnetic fields are produced wherever electrical
currents flow e.g. near cables in electrical installa-
tion in houses, in televisions and computer moni-
tors, electric motors, chokes for fluorescent lights
and transformers.
In respect of the effect of the human body on the
precision of the measurement—although not as
serious as for E-field measurements—the informa-
tion in 5.2.1 applies. The procedure given there is
only necessary for very precise measurements with
maximum resolution.
In respect of the measuring range change,
automatic measuring range change and over-
range, the instructions as per 5.2.1. apply, however
here three measuring ranges with the maximum
measured values of 2 µT, 20 µT and 200 µT are
available.
