b) Building a master-slave chain

The light effect device can alternatively be used for operation with a DMX controller also as a device in a
master-slave chain. In this case, the integrated controller of the master device serves as a target controller
for the connected GM215 devices.
• Connect the DMX OUT connection of the master device to the DMX IN connection of the first slave de-
vice.
• Connect the DMX OUT connection of the first slave device to the DMX IN connection of the following
GM215 device.
• Proceed with all the following slave devices in the same way as described above.
• Plug an XLR plug with terminating resistor into the DMX OUT connection of the last slave device (as
described in chapter "Connection of a DMX controller").

9. Mains connection

The mains socket to which the light effect device is connected must be in close vicinity to
the device and easily accessible, so the device can be quickly isolated from the mains power
supply in the event of a fault.
Do not let the mains cable come into contact with other cables.
Be careful when handling mains cables and mains connectors. Mains voltage may cause fatal
electric shocks.
Do not leave the cables trailing free; route them in an orderly and professional way to prevent
accidents.
Before plugging in the mains plug make sure the voltage indicated on the light effect device
is compatible with the mains voltage available. Do not connect the device if the data doesn't
match the available mains voltage. The wrong supply voltage may lead to irreparable damages
to the device and involve risks for the user.
• Insert the plug for non-heating devices of the mains cable into the mains socket on the device.
• Plug the power plug of the power supply cable into an earthed wall socket.
• The device starts to operate as soon as it is connected to the power supply.
Via the mains input and output jack (IEC) you can connect in series the GM215 effect spotlight
device with other GM215 effect spotlight devices. Only GM215 effect spotlight devices should
be connected in series. Use only GM215 effect spotlight devices and no devices of other types.
The mains output jack may be loaded with max. 6 A. The max. current consumption of 6 A must
therefore not be exceeded on the first GM215 device in the chain. Use an additional mains
socket if there must be connected more GM215 devices.
