Release the boiler pressure beforehand (see 11.7.1).
The drain screw is opened by turning it anti-clockwise
(when looking at the screw on the bottom of the com-
pressor) so that the condensate can be completely
drained out of the pressure vessel. Then close the
drain screw again (turn clockwise). Check the pressure
vessel for rust and damage each time before use.
The compressor shall not be operated if the pressure
vessel is damaged or rusty. If you discover damage,
please contact the customer service workshop.
m Attention!
The condensate from the pressure vessel contains oil
residue. Dispose of the condensate in an environmen-
tally friendly manner at a suitable collection point.
11.3 Safety valve (2) (fig. 1)
• The safety valve is set to the maximum permissible
pressure of the pressure vessel.
• It is not permitted to adjust the safety valve or re-
move the connection lock between the exhaust nut
and its cap.
• Actuate the safety valve every 30 operating hours
but at least three times a year to ensure that it works
when required.
1.
To open the outlet of the safety valve (2), turn the
perforated drain nut (2a) anticlockwise. Now, the
valve audibly releases air.
2.
Then, tighten the exhaust nut (2a) clockwise again.
Instructions on the disposal of condensate:
Dispose of the condensate in accordance with local
and national environmental regulations. Ensure that it
is not discharged into the wastewater system.
11.4 Check the oil level at regular intervals (fig. 9)
Place the compressor on a level and straight surface.
The oil level must be positioned between the MAX and
MIN of the oil sight glass (13).
Oil change: Recommended oil: DAB46 or equivalent.
The original oil filling must be changed after 10 oper-
ating hours; afterwards the oil must be drained and
replaced with new oil after every 50 operating hours.
11.5 Changing oil (fig. 7, 10)
Switch the motor off and unplug the mains plug from
the power outlet. Remove the oil plug (16). After re-
leasing any air pressure, you can unscrew the oil drain
screw (13) on the compressor pump (15).
To prevent the oil from running out in an uncontrolled
manner, hold a small metal chute under the opening
and collect the oil in a vessel. If the oil does not drain
out completely, we recommend tilting the compressor
slightly. Once the oil has fully drained out, replace the
oil drain screw (13).
Dispose of the old oil at a drop-off point for old oil.
To fill in the correct quantity of oil, make sure that the
compressor stands on an even surface. Fill new oil
through the oil filling opening (16) until it comes up to
the maximum level. This is indicated by a red dot on
the oil sight glass (14) (Fig. 9). Do not exceed the max-
imum filling quantity.
Overfilling the equipment may result in damage. Reinsert
the oil sealing plug (16) into the oil filling opening (16).
Note:
Use the oil recommended by the manufacturer for your
compressor. The oil should meet the specific require-
ments of the compressor. Incorrect or inferior oil can
increase the risk of fire.
Note:
Regularly check for leaks in the compressor's oil sys-
tem. Oil leaks can lead to an accumulation of flamma-
ble material and thus increase the risk of an oil fire.
Repair leaks immediately and clean up spilled oil thor-
oughly.
11.6 Cleaning the intake filter (fig. 11)
The intake filter prevents dust and dirt being sucked
in. It is necessary to clean this filter at least every 300
operating hours. A blocked intake filter significantly re-
duces the compressor power.
Remove the intake filter by unscrewing the screw.
Then pull off the filter cover (E). You can now remove
the air filter (D).
Carefully tap out the hose filter cover (E), air filter (D)
and filter housing (C).
These components must then be blown out with com-
pressed air (approx. 3 bar) and reassembled in reverse
order.
