RMU S40 AND ANOTHER ACCESSORY FROM
NIBE
RMU S40 can be connected in series with accessories that
have accessory board (AA5).
Because there can be different connections for accessories
with accessory board (AA5), you should always read the in-
structions in the manual for the accessory that is to be in-
stalled.
Connect a +12 V supply cable from the main product to
RMU S40. RMU S40 should be connected last in the commu-
nication loop.

SETTINGS IN THE MAIN PRODUCT
Adjust the default settings for each RMU S40 in the main
product.
NOTE!
The main product's software must be the latest
version.
TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSORS
RMU S40 is installed in a neutral location where the set
temperature and/or humidity are required. A suitable loca-
tion is on a free inner wall in a hall approx. 1.5 m above the
floor. It is important that the sensors are not prevented from
measuring the correct humidity and room temperature; for
example, by being placed in a recess, between shelves, be-
hind a curtain, above or close to a heat source, in a draught
from an external door or in direct sunlight. Closed radiator
thermostats can also cause problems.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
The temperature sensor in RMU S40 has the same function
as the room temperature sensor (BT50) that accompanies
the main product. This provides the option to select which
sensor the main product will use for displaying and con-
trolling the room temperature, where applicable.
Control of the temperature sensor is activated in menu 1.3.3
- "Room sensor settings" in the main product.
HUMIDITY SENSOR
The humidity sensor can be used to prevent condensation
during cooling operation; this is called dew point control.
With dew point control, there is the option to cool with a
lower supply temperature without needing to insulate the
climate system against condensation. Dew point control
means that the main product continuously calculates the
dew point based on the measured temperature and relative
humidity (RH). With dew point control, the location of the
sensor is important. If it is placed incorrectly, there is a risk
of condensation in the climate system.
The humidity sensor is controlled, for example, in the menus
7.1.6.4 – "Humidity control" (heating operation), 7.1.7.2 –
"Humidity control" (cooling operation) and 1.2.4 - "Demand
contr. ventilation" in the main product.
