2. Common mounting locations are under the front passenger
seat, or in the trunk area. Choose a location with unimpaired
air circulation.
If you are going to mount the amplifier in the passenger
compartment, make sure you leave adequate room for
amplifier ventilation. ROM amplifiers rely on ventilation for
proper cooling. When mounting your amplifier under a seat or
similar area, keep a minimum of 1" (3cm) of clearance in all
directions around the amplifier for adequate cooling.
3. Mounting the amplifier in the trunk provides excellent
performance as long as you do not mount the amplifier upside
down or restrict the airflow around the heat sink of the
amplifier. For optimal results, mount the amplifier with the
cooling fins in the vertical position. This type of mounting will
yield the best cooling due to the convection effect of the
amplifier chassis.
WARNING:
Don't use this power amplifier without securely mounting it. Attach the amplifier securely to
the vehicle to prevent damage, particularly in the event of an accident. Do not mount this
amplifier so that the wire connections are unprotected or are subject to pinching or damage
from nearby objects. Do NOT mount the amplifier in the engine compartment!
2.3
Installation
The amplifier must be professionally attached in the interest of safety. The chosen location
must be suitable for taking the screws and offer sufficient support.
Use the enclosed screws. Place the amplifier at the mounting location, and mark the positions
of the holes with a marker, pen or pencil. Using a 2.5mm bit, carefully drill the mounting holes
in the marked positions. Use the supplied mounting screws to securely fasten the amplifier to
the mounting surface.
WARNING:
Thoroughly investigate the layout of your vehicle before drilling or cutting any pilot holes.
Take care when you work near the gas tanks, fuel lines, or hydraulic lines, and electrical
wiring. The +12V DC power wire must be fused at the battery positive terminal connection.
Before making or breaking power connections at this system power terminals, disconnect
the +12V wire at the battery end. Be sure to turn off your head unit and/or other equipment
before connecting the input jacks and speaker terminals.
