15. Troubleshooting

No camera picture (or only interference)
• Set the matching operating mode; see chapter 12. The surveillance camera can supply a conventional analogue
CVBS video signal or a high-resolution signal in operating modes "AHD", "CVI" and "TVI".
In the basic setting, the surveillance camera supplies an AHD image signal for the enclosed digital recorder.
Adjustment of the pre-setting is therefore not required.
If you want to operate the surveillance camera directly on a screen for test purposes (instead of via the
digital recorder), you need to select the operating mode "CVBS", see chapter 12. If the surveillance camera
is connected to the digital recorder again, switch back to the setting "AHD" (do not forget to disconnect the
surveillance camera from the voltage/power supply for a few seconds before switching the setting again).
For the best image, always select the operating mode "AHD" (factory setting) on the surveillance cameras
in connection with the digital recorder.
• Set the digital recorder to the correct input channel.
• Check the voltage/current supply of the surveillance camera.
• Check the surveillance camera's cable connections.
Only black/white camera image
• At night, the surveillance camera will automatically switch to black/white display (at the same time, all IR LEDs are
activated). Colour display is not possible here.
• Check the setting in the setup menu.
Screen too bright
• Check the settings in the setup menu; reset the surveillance camera to factory settings if required.
• Never point the surveillance camera at the sun or a lamp.
• Select the corresponding settings in the setup menu, e.g. for white balance, etc.
