INSTALLING INVERTER

LOCATION

Install the Sunrise inverter in a dry place.
Note that in places with increased ambient temperatures (such as the
attic with summer temperatures of up to 60°C) any inverter will reduce
the feeding power for safety reasons which results in a yield loss.
Therefore, if possible, install the inverter in a cool place.
Note! As the transformer may generate hum noise when operated at full
load, do not install inverter in dwelling rooms.
Sunrise inverters are designed for wall-mounting in upright position.
Allow 10 cm minimum clearance at the bottom and at the top to keep
louvers clear and thus ensure sufficient cooling. When mounted in a
cabinet, provide openings at the bottom and at the top twice the size of
the inverter louvers.
Caution! If maximum power is delivered over a longer period, the
temperature at the heat sink may rise to as much as 85°C.
Therefore do not mount the inverter onto an inflammable surface
(plywood panel, etc.)!

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

- Place drilling jig supplied with inverter at the desired mounting place
and drill two holes for hexagon bolts M6 x 80 (or longer) at the
distance given.
- Insert pegs and hexagon screw bolts into bores
- Hang up inverter at slots provided at the back
- Tighten hexagon screw bolts to secure appliance.
Caution! Mind the weight of up to 27 kg. Only mount appliance
to a suitable wall.

CONNECTING INVERTER

GENERAL

Due to the new ENS safety technique, the electric installation of the
Sunrise inverter is much easier than that of conventional inverters with
three-phase voltage monitoring. ENS ensures that two independent
devices continually monitor the network impedance of the phase being
fed.
This redundant method offers the following benefits:
- increased safety
- less installation work (connection to only one phase required)
- no periodic re-checking of safety equipment
Installation to no more than one phase of the electric network allows for
installation virtually anywhere in the house. The monitoring method
applied, however, requires that the resistance of the feed lines to the
point of connection is as low as possible.
Note! In several countries it is required by national code to include other
safety devices in addition to the ENS.
Caution! Only a licenced electrical fitter is authorized to connect
the inverter to the public electric network. Actual commissioning
is to be agreed with the local utility company. All and any
applicable safety regulations and instructions for technical con-
nection set up by your utility company must be complied with.
HOW TO CONNECT INVERTER TO DC POWER
SUPPLY (SOLAR POWER)
As soon as solar modules are exposed to daylight, they start generating
voltage. During wiring operations this must be kept in mind and proper
safety precautions must be taken (e.g. by covering modules or dividing
the branches into groups to obtain protective low voltage).
Caution! Provide a DC disconnecting switch immediately before
the inverter to allow disconnection from solar cells in an emer-
gency case. The minimum cross section of the conductors to the
solar cells is 4mm².
