In battery mode the integrated projector (and the display illumination) will only be
activated (for a period of approx. 5 seconds) if you press the "SNOOZE • LIGHT"
(1) briefly (here the sliding switch "CONTINUE PROJECTION►" (6) must be pushed
downwards in the opposite direction of the arrow).
When powered by the AC adapter provided, you can enable the continuous
mode of the projector by moving the sliding switch (6) in the direction of the
arrow labelled with "CONTINUE PROJECTION►".
The batteries then serve as backup batteries, e.g., during power failure.
Connect the included AC adapter with the corresponding socket (10) of the pro-
-
jection clock and plug it into the power outlet.
Open the battery compartment (12) on the back of the projection clock; push the
-
cover downwards and out.
Insert two AAA/Micro type batteries; observe the correct polarity (note +/Plus
-
and -/Minus). An appropriate illustration is inside the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment again.
The projection clock will start an attempt to pick up the DCF signal. The hands of
-
minute and hour are moving towards the „12 o'clock" position.
Searching for the DCF signal may take several minutes. Do not move the projec-
tion clock and do not press any button during this time.
Do not place the projection clock next to electronic devices, metal parts,
cables and so on. Bad reception can also be expected with metallised insu-
lating glass windows, reinforced concrete constructions, coated special wall-
paper or in cellar rooms.
The DCF signal is a signal emitted by a transmitter
in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am Main). Its range
covers up to 1500 km and, and under ideal recep-
tion conditions, even up to 2000 km.
The DCF signal encodes the precise time and oth-
er details.
Naturally, the inconvenient manual setting of sum-
mer and winter time is not necessary anymore.
Once the projection clock has picked up the DCF signal properly, the hands will
-
move to the current time.
The projection clock will continue searching for a DCF signal several times per
-
day. One successful reception attempt per day is enough already to keep the
deviation of the internal clock below one second.
If no current time is shown after about 7 minutes, move the projection clock to a
-
different location.
Then remove the batteries and unplug the projection clock from the power
adapter. Wait a few seconds before you reactivate the projection clock.
The projection clock can be set up on a flat, solid surface by means of the inte-
-
grated base affixed to the housing. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using
a suitable mat to prevent scratch marks.
The projection clock is now ready for use.

OPERaTION

a) alarm function
Setting the alarm time
Turn the dial (11) for the alarm time to the left in a counter-clockwise direction to
move the hand (5) of the alarm.
m
Never turn the dial to the right in a clockwise direction, as this can damage
the clock mechanism.
Switching the alarm function on/off
You can switch the alarm on ("ON") or off ("OFF") with the sliding switch (9).
The alarm signal is triggered when the hour hand moves over the alarm time
hand. As is usual in analogue clocks, the alarm signal will thus sound every
12 hours.
activating the snooze function and exiting the alarm
At the set alarm time the alarm is activated and also the backlight of the clock-
-
face is turned on for 5 seconds.
Briefly press the „SNOOZE • LIGHT" button (1) to pause the alarm for 4 minutes
-
(snooze mode); the backlight function of the clock-face is also activated for 5
seconds.
After elapse of these 4 minutes, the alarm restarts.
The alarm stops automatically after 2 minutes, if no button is pressed.
To exit the alarm mode (or the snooze mode) turn off the alarm function by
-
switching the slide switch (9) off („OFF").
b) Projection of the clock time
continuous projection of the clock time
This only works, when the protection clock is powered by the AC adaptor
provided.
Due to the energy demand continuous projection in battery mode is not pos-
sible.
To activate continuous projection, move the sliding switch (6) to the right in direc-
tion of the arrow labelled with "CONTINUE PROJECTION►".
Flash projection
If continuous projection is turned off (slide switch (6) pushed to the left), or if the
projection clock is only powered by batteries (and not via the included AC adapter),
you can activate the projecting function by pressing the "SNOOZE • LIGHT" button
(1) briefly.
Both the backlit clock-face and the projection of the time are activated for about 5
seconds. after which they turn off automatically to save energy.
In battery mode the continuous projection mode must be switched off (push
sliding switch (6) to the left), or otherwise you will not be able to activate the
projection mode.
Rotating the time display by 180°
Briefly press button "FLIP" (7) to rotate the projection of the clock time by 180°.
Focusing the projection image
With the focus dial (8) you can sharpen the displayed clock time (regardless of the
projector's distance to the screen).
Swivelling the projector
You can pivot the projector (4) by 90° forward or backward.
c) activating the backlight function of the clock-face
Press the "SNOOZE • LIGHT" button (1) briefly. That way the backlight function of
the clock-face is activated for 5 seconds.
The projection of the time is activated at the same time as the backlit clock-
face, if the continuous projection of the clock time is off.
