INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
WARNING!
DUE CONSIDERATION SHOULD BE GIVEN
TO THE FACT THAT THIS IS A
POLYPROPYLENE ASSEMBLY. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN THE PIPE CONNECTIONS
AFTER FILTER INSTALLATION AS THIS MAY
DAMAGE THE FILTER HEAD.
WARNING!
ENSURE FILTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTIONS
ARE COMPATIBLE WITH SYSTEM
PIPEWORK, FAILURE TO DO SO COULD
RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT
These procedures apply to single and multi-headed
assemblies.
Ensure the part number conforms to the
requirements.
Remove from protective bag by cutting open the
bag taking care not to damage the product.
Remove protective caps from inlet/outlet
connections
Note: Retain protective caps and refit them to
inlet/outlet connections when filter assembly is
removed from system
Install the filter assembly in the system pipework
using the appropriate connections. Ensure that flow
direction arrow on the filter head conforms with the
system flow direction and that the assembly is
positioned bowl down as shown in Figure 1.
Caution: Excessive pipeloads should be avoided
when mounting the filter assembly in its operating
position. This filter assembly and pipework should
be supported in accordance with current good
industrial practice with the pipe supports placed as
close as practically possible to the filter assembly.
Commence process flow and check for leakage. If
leakage occurs, isolate, depressurise and rectify
leak before proceeding.
7.
REPLACEMENT OF FILTER ASSEMBLY
When the maximum allowable operating time is
reached or maximum allowable differential pressure
is reached upstream of the filter assembly or
insufficient flow is obtained, the filter assembly
must be replaced. Proceed as follows:-
Isolate system flow upstream and depressurise
through system valves.

WARNING!
BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE
FILTER ASSEMBLY FROM THE SYSTEM
PIPEWORK, ENSURE THAT IT IS FULLY
DEPRESSURISED. FAILURE TO DO SO
COULD RESULT IN A RAPID DISCHARGE OF
FLUID WHICH COULD CAUSE PERSONAL
INJURY
All necessary precautions to prevent possible static
discharge must be carried out.
Disconnect filter assembly from system pipework
and blank off inlet and outlet connections using the
protective caps provided. Discard filter assembly
and treat any excess fluid in accordance with local
Health and Safety procedures.
Install replacement filter assembly in accordance
with Section 6. It is recommended that all seals are
renewed before re-assembly.
8.
INFORMATION ON DISPOSAL –
MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION
Disposal/handling of the used filter assembly should
be in line with national legislation and local
regulatory requirements for those materials.
Due consideration must also be made to the nature
of the contaminants on the filters as the result of
use.
The filter housing is constructed entirely of
polypropylene, excluding seal materials for external
connections. For full details of the materials of
element construction, please refer to the appropriate
media datasheet. The label is constructed from a
paper material.
If further information is required, please contact Pall.
