9. Trouble shooting
Fault
Display fails to illuminate
Counter fails to operate
Very low illumination of
display or normal illumination
of display, however display
changes erratically.
Normal counting procedure,
however, no illumination of
one or more Segments
MEMOFIX facility fails to
operate
Cause
. No mains power supply
. Mains switch has not
been engaoed
. Defective mains fuse
Incorrect mains power supply
. Transducer or encoder
not connected
. Break in extension cable
. Defective cable tail on
transducer or encoder
. Lamp failure within
transducer or encoder
7-Segment display or
decoder chip defective
Remedy
Check
Check
Replace fuse
Check that rated voltage corresponds
to mains voltage. If required,
operate voltage selector (in accordance
with item 8)
Check
Check, replace if reqd.
Contact HEIDENHAIN agencyand
return equipment for repair
For units with replacement lamps,
replace lamp in accordance with
operating instructions.
For units without replacement lamps,
contact HEIDENHAIN agencyand
return equipment for repair.
Contact HEIDENHAIN agencyand
return equipment for repair
Counter, transducer or Contact HEIDENHAIN agencyand
encoder defective return equipment for repair.
In case of any faults other than listed above, we recommend replacing the complete counter.
