• Do not use force when inserting the battery cartridge. If
the cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not being
inserted correctly.
Switch action
CAUTION:
• Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,
always check to see that the switch trigger actuates
properly and returns to the "OFF" position when
released. (Fig. 2)
To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Air volume
is increased by increasing pressure on the switch trigger.
Release the switch trigger to stop.
Air volume adjusting dial
Air volume can be adjusted to any of three settings by
turning the adjusting dial with the switch trigger fully
depressed. Refer to the table below for the relationship
between the number on the dial and the air volume.

CAUTION:
• Use the adjusting dial only after the switch trigger
returns to the "OFF" position. Turning the dial before
the trigger returns may damage the tool.
• If the tool is operated continuously until the battery
cartridge has discharged, rest the tool for at least 15
minutes before proceeding with a fresh battery.
ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the
battery cartridge is removed before carrying out any
work on the tool.
Blowing (Fig. 3)
For dust blowing, attach nozzle to blower outlet, turning
clockwise to lock it in place.
To remove the nozzle, turn it counterclockwise.
Dust suction (Fig. 4)
For dust suction, fit nozzle onto suction inlet and dust bag
onto blower outlet.
After the bag fills with dust, empty the contents of the dust
bag into a dust bin by releasing the fastener. (Fig. 5)
CAUTION:
• Empty the dust bag before it becomes too full, or the
suction force weakens.
NOTICE:
The garden nozzle (optional accessory) is intended for
blowing use only. Do not use garden nozzle for suction.

MAINTENANCE

CAUTION:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the
battery cartridge is removed before attempting to
perform inspection or maintenance.
• Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the
like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.
Cleaning
From time to time, wipe off the outside of the tool using a
cloth dampened in soapy water. Never use gasoline,
thinner or the like, or discoloration and/or cracks can take
place. (Fig. 6)
To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs,
any other maintenance or adjustment should be
performed by Makita Authorized Service Centers, always
using Makita replacement parts.

The garden nozzle is intended for blowing use only. Do
not use garden nozzle for suction. Debris may become
