Videorecorder oder weitere Signalelemente aktivie-
ren. Jede Alarmfunktion kann, falls erwünscht, deakti-
viert werden.
4 Gerät aufstellen
Das Gerät kann als freistehendes Tischgerät aufge-
stellt oder in ein Rack (482 mm/19") eingebaut wer-
den. Bei Einbau des Gerätes in ein Rack die beilie-
genden Montagewinkel nach Abb. 3 anschrauben.
Es wird 1 Höheneinheit (= 44,45 mm) benötigt.
5 Gerät anschließen
Den Multiplexer ausschalten, bevor Anschlüsse zu
anderen Geräten vorgenommen werden.
5.1 Kameras
Bis zu vier Kameras können an die Eingangsbuch-
sen V1-V4 IN (16) angeschlossen werden. Die
Eingänge sind den Tasten (6) in der Reihenfolge von
links nach rechts zugeordnet, d. h. die Taste
den Eingang V1 usw.
5.2 Monitor und Videorecorder
1) Den Hauptmonitor an die Buchse LIVE (12) an-
schließen.
2) Zur Aufzeichnung der Kamerabilder im Zeit-Multi-
plex-Betrieb den Videoeingang des Videorecor-
ders (Echtzeit- oder Langzeitrecorder) mit der
Buchse MPLX (18) verbinden.
Zur Wiedergabe der Aufzeichnung den Video-
ausgang des Videorecorders an die Buchse VCR
IN (11) anschließen.
Um die Kamera-Umschaltung des Multiplexers mit
den Aufnahmeintervallen des Recorders zu syn-
chronisieren (siehe dazu Kap. 7.2.3 „Grundein-
stellungen für die Recorder-Aufzeichnung"), kann
das Gerät über eine Steuerleitung mit dem Recor-
der verbunden werden: Den Steuereingang VCR
TRIG. (7) an den Kamera-Umschaltimpuls-Aus-
gang (mögliche Beschriftung: SWITCH OUT oder
4 Setting up the Unit
The unit can be used as a table top unit or be
installed into a rack (482 mm/19").
With the installation of the unit into a rack screw on
the supplied mounting brackets according to fig. 3.
One rack space (= 44.45 mm) is necessary.
5 Connecting the Unit
Switch off the multiplexer before connections to other
units are carried out.
5.1 Cameras
Up to four cameras can be connected to input jacks
V1 to V4 (16). The inputs are assigned to the buttons
(6) in the sequence from left to right, i. e. button
for input V1 etc.
5.2 Monitor and video recorder
1) Connect the main monitor to jack LIVE (12).
2) To record the camera pictures in time-multiplex
operation, connect the video input of the video re-
corder (real time or timelapse recorder) to jack
MPLX (18).
To reproduce the recording, connect the video
output of the video recorder to jack VCR IN (11).
To synchronize the camera switching of the multi-
plexer with the recording intervals of the video
recorder (for this see chapter 7.2.3 "Basic settings
for the recording by video recorder"), the unit can
be connected with the video recorder via a control
cable: Connect control input VCR TRIG. (7) to the
camera switching pulse output (possible lettering:
SWITCH OUT or CLOCK OUT) of the video re-
corder.
(Note: The control cable between multiplexer and
video recorder is not compulsory. The units can
also exclusively be synchronized by a corre-
sponding programming via the screen menu, see
chapter 7.2.3.)

3) An den Buchsen V1-V4 OUT (10) können die
durchgeschleiften Kameraeingangssignale abge-
nommen werden, z. B. für Einzelmonitore, zur ge-
trennten Aufnahme auf vier Videorecorder oder für
einen Quad-Prozessor.
5.3 Alarmverbindungen
Alle Alarmanschlüsse werden über die 9polige Sub-D-
Buchsenleiste ALARM IN (15) durchgeführt. Zum Her-
stellen der Alarmverbindungen siehe Anschlußbele-
gung der Buchsenleiste in Abb. 2.
1) Das Gerät besitzt für jeden Kamerakanal einen
Alarmeingang zum Anschluß eines Alarmsensors
(z. B. Bewegungsmelder). Die Alarmsensoren (mit
NO- oder NC-Kontakten) an die Alarmeingänge
für
anschließen. Der Kontakt „Sensor 1" ist der Ka-
mera am Eingang V1 zugeordnet usw.
2) Bei Bedarf kann ein zusätzlicher Taster (Schließer)
als Alarmausschalter (Alarm Reset) an die Kon-
takte 5 und 6 angeschlossen werden.
3) Der Alarmausgang (Kontakte 7-9) ist ein poten-
tialfreies Relais mit NO- und NC-Kontakt, das bei
Alarm schaltet und somit angeschlossene Geräte
aktiviert. Der Alarmausgang kann z. B. an den
Alarmeingang des Videorecorders angeschlossen
werden - um die Recorder-Aufnahme zu starten
bzw. den Recorder im Alarmfall von Timelapse-
Aufnahme auf Echtzeit-Aufnahme zu schalten -
oder mit weiteren Alarmgebern verbunden werden.
5.4 Fernbedienung
Für die Fernsteuerung des Multiplexers über eine
Fernbedienung dient die 9polige Sub-D-Stiftleiste
REMOTE OR RS-232 (8). Die passende Fernbedie-
nung ist auf Anfrage bei MONACOR erhältlich.

individual monitors, for separate recording on four
video recorders, or for a quad processor.
5.3 Alarm connections
All alarm connections are carried out via the 9-pole
Sub D connector ALARM IN (15). To establish the
alarm connections, see the pin configuration of the
connector in fig. 2.
1) The unit has an alarm input for each camera chan-
nel to connect an alarm sensor (e. g. motion de-
tector). Connect the alarm sensors (with NO or NC
contacts) to the alarm inputs. Contact "Sensor 1"
is assigned to camera at input V1, etc.
2) If required, an additional momentary push-button
(closed with alarm) may be connected to contacts
5 and 6 as alarm reset.
3) The alarm output (contacts 7 to 9) is a floating
relay with NO and NC contacts which switches in
case of alarm and thus activates connected units.
The alarm output can e. g. be connected to the
alarm input of the video recorder - to start the re-
cording of the video recorder resp. to switch the
video recorder from timelapse to real time recor-
ding in case of alarm - or the alarm output can be
connected with further alarm devices.
5.4 Remote control
To operate the multiplexer via a remote control, use
the 9-pole Sub D connector REMOTE OR RS-232
(8). The matching remote control is available at MO-
NACOR by request.
5.5 Computer
The multiplexer resp. several multiplexers can be re-
mote-controlled via a computer or a terminal with an
RS-232 interface. Connect the computer/terminal to
the 9-pole Sub D connector REMOTE OR RS-232
(8). For this see the pin configuration of the connector
in fig. 2.
5.5 Computer
Der Multiplexer bzw. mehrere Multiplexer lassen sich
über einen Computer oder ein Terminal mit einer RS-
232-Schnittstelle fernsteuern. Den Computer/das Ter-
minal an die 9polige Sub-D-Stiftleiste REMOTE OR
RS-232 (8) anschließen. Siehe dazu Anschlußbele-
gung der Stiftleiste in Abb. 2.
Achtung! Am Verbindungskabel zum Computer/Ter-
minal müssen die Anschlüsse 6-9 frei bleiben , da an
ihnen Betriebsspannung bzw. Masse für die Fernbe-
dienung (siehe Kap. 5.4) anliegt.
5.6 Stromversorgung
Nach dem Anschluß aller übrigen Geräte den beilie-
genden Steckertrafo an die Buchse DC/AC 24 V (13)
anschließen und mit einer Netzsteckdose (230 V~/
50 Hz) verbinden.
6 Bedienung
Den Multiplexer mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter POWER (9)
einschalten. Die rote LED „POWER" (1) leuchtet, und
auf dem Monitor wird kurz die Meldung „INITIALIZING"
eingeblendet. Die Betriebsbereitschaft des Gerätes
wird durch einen Signalton signalisiert. Nach dem Ein-
schalten befindet sich das Gerät im Quad-Splitter-Be-
trieb, die LED über der Taste
(5) leuchtet.
Bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme sind die vom Her-
steller einprogrammierten Grundeinstellungen des
Gerätes aktiviert. Über das Bildschirm-Menü kann
das Gerät nach eigenen Wünschen neu programmiert
werden. Zum Vornehmen aller Einstellungen lesen
Sie bitte Kapitel 7 „Programmieren des Gerätes".
6.1 Live-Überwachung
6.1.1 Quad-Splitter-Betrieb
Soll das Gerät im Quad-Splitter-Betrieb laufen, die
Taste
(5) drücken. Im Quad-Splitter-Betrieb wird
der Bildschirm des Monitors zur Darstellung von bis
zu vier Kamerabildern gleichzeitig in vier Quadranten
unterteilt. Sind weniger als vier Kameras ange-

5.6 Power supply
After the connection of all other units connect the
supplied plug-in transformer to jack DC/AC 24 V (13)
and to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

Operation
Switch on the multiplexer with the POWER switch
(9). The red LED "POWER" (1) lights and the mess-
age "INITIALIZING" is shortly inserted on the moni-
tor. A signal sound indicates that the unit is ready for
operation. After switching-on the unit is in quad
splitter operation, the LED above button
lights.
With setting the unit into operation for the first
time, the basic settings of the unit programmed by
the manufacturer are activated. Via the screen menu
the unit can newly be programmed as desired. To
carry out all settings, please read chapter 7 "Pro-
gramming the Unit".
6.1 Live monitoring
6.1.1 Quad splitter operation
For quad splitter operation press button
quad splitter operation the screen of the monitor is
subdivided into four quadrants to display up to four
camera pictures at the same time. If less than four
cameras are connected, the corresponding qua-
drants on the monitor are darkened.
With gain controls G1 to G4 (17) the levels of the
connected cameras can be matched to each other.
[The controls have no effect on the fed-through cam-
era signals at outputs V1 to V4 OUT (10).]
6.1.2 Full screen operation
To select a camera input, press the corresponding
