E.g.: 40 Ah battery recommended charging current=40/10 = 4A for a minimum of 10 hours:

tagestated on the dataplate:
- once charging i sfinished, turnthebattery charger o ffbymeans o f themain switch(ifany)or byremoving
theplug fromthepower s upply, disconnect the+and- clamps f romtheterminals a ndclose thebattery with
the caps provided;
CAUTION ! if thebattery i s leftconnected tothebattery charger for many hoursafter c harging h asfinished,
thebattery c ouldbedamaged since thecurrent n ever s witches o ffandthiscouldcause excessive heating o f
the platesandthe liquidcontained in the batterymaystartto "boil". If this phenomenon alsooccursduring
charging, thecharging c urrent s hould bedecreased (formodels w hichhave a regulator) or charging s hould
be interrupted in ordertoavoiddamaging thebattery.

01 - disconnect thepower supplycableof the battery charger ( remove theplugfrom thepower supply
socket);
02 - unscrewthe fasteningscrewsandopenthe batterycharger,CAUTION! neveruse the batterycharger
while it is open.
03- remove t heprotective c over otthefuseandreplace t hefusewithatuseof thesame value (The correct
valueof thefuseisstatedon thedataplateandnearthefuseitself);
04 - close the batterychargerand tighten the fastening screws;
Replacement ofpowersupplycable(for themodelswherethereplacement canbedonewithoutaspecial t ool)
01 - disconnectthe power supplycableof the batterycharger(removethe plug from the power supply
socket);
02 - unscrewthe fastening screwsandopenthe batterycharger.CAUTION! neveruse the batterycharger
while it is open.
03 - withdraw the connectors of the power supply cable;
04 - replace the powersupplycable, m akingsurethatit is placed as before;
05 - closethebatterycharger a ndtightenthefastening screws.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
BATTERY CHARGERNOT CHARGING:
- checkthatthe negative (-) andpositive(+) clamps areconnected t o thecorrectterminals on thebattery;
if thereis morethanonebatteryin series, c heckthe connection between thebatteries(negative terminalof
onebattery to thepositive terminalofthe other).
Check thisagainst t hevariousconnection diagrams:
- checkthat the power supply cableis connected;
- checkthat thethermalprotection hasnot beenactivated (for modelswith resetof the external p rotection),
bymeans of a button,waitabouta minuteandpressthebuttonon thefront panel o f thebattery charger.
WARNING
Theattempt t o charge damaged b atteries o r thecontinuous shortcircuitbetween t hepliersfor longer t han
necessary, may irreparably damage the thermal protection inside the battery charger.

GENERAL OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS FORBATTERY CHARGER/STARTER

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS FORPORTABLE STARTER
Therange ofbattery-Chargers/starters contains two versions.
The first v ersion operates with only 12output volts and isfitted with acharger-starter
suitable f orthereading o f thecharging c urrent (firstpartofthegraduated scale) andthestarting current (final p art o tthe
scale).
The second v ersion o perates with12/24 output v olts andinaddition t othebattery i ndicator and thecharger-starter
also hastwosockets m arked w ith12Vand24V (which canbeused separatery
Ifthe appliance istobeused a sabattery charger, connect theblack c lamp t othe- terminal and the red Clamp to+terminal
ofthebattery. Then connect thepower supply cable toa mains s ocket withsufficient power a ndturntheswitch tothemost
