The Autostar range is provided with a patented PCB which allows the constant control on the output
voltage of the electromechanical battery chargers during the boost start. Through this system it is pos-
Sibleto avoid damages to the electronic devices of the new generation vehicles when the boost start
reaches its voltage peak.
All the vehicles' PCBs are in any case equipped with overload protection.
On the smaller Autostar (300, 500 and 700) there are three pilot lights indicating:
Thermal protection intervention
Boost start function (red)
Controlled output voltage (green)
On the biggerAutostar (1000, 1300 and 2000) the PCB acts from the inside of the machine and there
isn't any pilot light.
The battery charger/starter with CPS works in the Boost Start as follows:
Switch on the vehicle.
The motor doesn't start , the battery is flat.
Connect in parallel the battery charger/starter with CPS to the battery.
Start the battery charger (starter with CPS up and turn the key. The CPS PCB activates the battery
charger/starter so as to give to the starter enough current for the time necessary to start the machine
motor. This CPS PCB in fact controls the boosting current supply and when it recognizes the current
need, it automatically activates the Boost start function. For the same principle when the battery volta-
ge reaches (at the battery end) the safety values, the boost function automatically stops. On full batte-
ries (charged) the battery charger / starter does not even work at boost function.
The boost start function with remote control is replaced on the Autostar models by the boost start throu-
gh CPS.
On the Autostar 1000, 1300 and 2000 there are the following functions:
normal (slow) charge as before
fast charge with timer as before
Boost start with CPS, which replaces all other boost start functions.
If there aren't any other relevant remarks for the Boost start function, it is advisable to fast charge for
minimum 10 minutes before boost starting.
The normal (slow) charge function is the same as always: it is always better to proceed with the normal
charge at low values. In this way the battery life will be safeguarded, in some conditions the risks for the
battery are reduced and damages to the electronic devices of the machine are avoided. If you proceed
with the normal (slow) charge, the battery can also be connected on the machine (on board), but in the
case you proceed with the fast charge this must be done in any case with the battery outside (discon-
nected) as the temperature raises. Following this warning you will avoid possible damages.

La linea Autostar é completa di una scheda brevettata che rende possibile un controllo costante della
tensione d'uscita dei carica batterie elettromeccanici
Con questo sistema é possibile evitare danni ai dispositivi elettronici delle automobili di nuova genera-
zione q uando l'avviamento raggiunge ileo picco d itensione.
Tutti i circuiti delle automobili sono in ogni caso dotati di protezione di sovraccarico.
Sugli Autostar piü piccoli (300/500 e 700) ci sono tre lampade, che segnalano le seguenti funzioni:
Intervento della protezione termica
Funzione di avviamento (rosso)
Tensione d'uscita controllata (verde)
SugliAutostar piü grandi (1000, 1300e 2000) Ia scheda agisce dall'interno e non c'é nessuna lampada
di segnalazione.
II carica batterie/starter con CPS funziona in avviamento
avviare il motore dell'automobile;
II motore non parte, Ia batteria non abbastanza carica.
Collegare in parallelo i carica batterie/starter con CPS e girare la chiave.
La scheda CPS attiva il carica batterie/starter in modo da dare abbastanza corrente all'avviatore per
il tempo necessario ad avviare il motore, Questa scheda CPS controlla la fornitura di corrente per
I'avviamento e quando riconosce il bisogno di corrente, attiva in automatico Iafunzione di avviamento.
Per 10stesso principio quando la tensione della batteria raggiunge (alla fine della batteria) i valori di
sicurezza, automaticamente la funzione di avviamento si arresta. Su batterie piene (cariche) il carica
batterie/starter non funziona in funzione di avviamento.
La funzione di avviamento con comando a distanza
avviamento con CPS.
SugliAutostar 1000, 1300 e 2000 ci sono Ie seguenti funzioni:
carica normale come prima
carica veloce con timer come prima
aiuto di partenza con CPS, Che sostituisce tutte le altre forme di aiuto di partenza.
Se non ci sono altre indicazioni per Ia funzione di avviamento, si raccomanda sempre una veloce cari-
ca di almeno 10 minuti pria dell'avviamento.
La normale (lenta) funzione di carica é come sempre: sempre meglio fare Ia normale carica ai valori
minimi. Inquesto sistema la vita della batteria viene protetta, in alcune condizioni i pericoli della batteria
sono ridotti e anche i danni alle parti elettroniche delle automobili evitate.
Se si fa Ia carica normale (lenta), Ia batteria puö restare collegata all'automobile, ma la carica rapida
(carica veloce) deve in ogni caso avvenire con Iabatteria all'esterno (scollegata), perché Ia temperatu-
ra aumenta. Seguendo questa avvertenza si evitano possibili danni.
