Filter bag

The pressure drop is a parameter by which it is possible to clearly assess the de-
gree of clogging of the filter bag, and thus to determine the necessary frequency
of the dust collector stops for carrying out the bag cleaning operation. Keeping
the pressure drop below the value given in chapter 5.3 has a direct impact on
the efficiency of dust extraction by the system, electricity consumption by the
fan motor, and durability of the seals in the dust collector.

10.4.1 Replacement of filter bag(s).

If it is necessary to replace the filter bag, switch off the dust collector and
protect the vicinity of the dust collector against the dust from the bag. Use
personal protective equipment (dust mask, glasses) during maintenance work.
Fig. 17 shows how to replace the filter bag.
Removal of filter bag:
1.
Open front access door and release bag from shaker frame by unhooking
the suspension grips. Let the bag fall down onto the filter frame at its base.
2.
Remove the nuts and washers from the lower bag mounting frame.
3.
Lift the mounting frame complete with the filter bag from the studs.
4.
Lift the frame and filter bag carefully out of the filter unit.
5.
Separate the frame from the bag. Clean the frame.
6.
Check bag for abrasion, dust penetration or other damage. A faulty bag
should be replaced with a new one.
Fitting a new filter bag:
1.
Fit the bag mounting frame over bag, pulling a vee-pocket through each
slot. Stretch out the bottom skirt so that it does not fold under the bag.
2.
Make sure that the bag earthing wire is properly fastened to the housing
(if used).
3.
Replace the self adhesive sealing strip around the filter mounting area.
